Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I still haven't seen a definitive answer. I never received any response to the email I sent to the port offices. The current info on the Celebrity app for our June 4 sailing isn't much help. No where does it say what time to be back on board or provide any information about the port shuttle.
  2. We did a private tour with Rome Cabs (actually - Stefano Rome Tours) that combined both several years ago. It was perfect as we, like the OP, had done Rome pre-cruise and didn't wanted something different before heading the the airport hotel for the night for a flight home the next day. They picked us up at the port, took us, and our cruise luggage, to both Orvieto, Civita and a couple other places before returning us back to FCO that evening. Great day!
  3. Yep - we already have our train tickets (CT train cards) from Trenitalia. We will be walking between at least two of the villages. She's just not a fan of smaller boats, LOL.
  4. Thanks for the input. I originally thought we would head right to Portofino, but we will have just come from time in Cinque Terre and Lucca, so it seemed to be a good fit for us to stay put in SML and enjoy the lovely Italian Riviera. One of the people in my group likely won't get on the ferry, LOL, although walking is always an option. Too many choices!!
  5. On our upcoming sailing we are going to do a beach day while in port. I've looked at several - Gio e Rino, Public Beach, and Spiaggia Libera - as well as others. We don't necessarily want to go to Portofino Santa Margherita looks great. We are looking for something local, with food options, and we are fine to take a taxi or walk if there is something close enough. Any thoughts?
  6. Nice to know it's Bigelow in Concierge, too. We've been on AQ on our last several sailings, and I do like the products. We couldn't pass up a great deal on a Sunset Concierge cabin for our upcoming cruise, so I've been wondering, too. Thanks!
  7. Thank you! I just sent an email. I played around on the site a bit, too, hoping the info might be there. I'll post the info when someone answers.
  8. We have an overnight in June in La Spezia on Celebrity. Does anyone know how late the port shuttles back to the ship run?
  9. I just used several AARP gift card to pay the balance on my upcoming cruise. Easy. I don't think that these can be used for on board purchases, nor do I need them to be - so I haven't looked into that. However, to save 10% off my cruise fare on our upcoming Med cruise it was a no brainer. I've referred others to this as well, and they've had no problem using them to pay their cruise balances.
  10. I used some on RCCL a couple months ago, too. Celebrity's process is much easier to have them applied.
  11. It's definitely on my list to watch before we go. My preference is absolutely Procida for the day; just planning for the "what if??" Thanks!!
  12. We used them for final payment. We had paid the deposit for this one while on board the last one. Before final payment was due I purchased the cards and called Celebrity to apply them. Easy!
  13. I just used several AARP gift cards to pay for our upcoming Equinox cruise (I reluctantly joined AARP for this sole reason, LOL). It was super easy and saved, pardon the pun, a boatload of money.
