  1. I'm more fortunate, going very early in the season on my B2B: the first stop in Juneau there will only be one other ship, and on the second stop we are the only ship. Will give me plenty of opportunity to meander through town and hit all the shops and support the local economy!
  2. The last time I was in Skagway was probably 2003 on Holland-America's Volendam. I remember going ashore somewhere to eat breakfast the year prior when I was on the Sun Princess, but don't even remember where. I just remember having the pancakes.
  3. With every Live thread I learn something new, take notes, and continue to plan for when it's my turn - which is still 329 days away. As a NCL newbie I've been beating up this forum for 4 months with a hundred questions and hounding people for information, but for a cruise that will be over 30 days long every new insight helps make my journey that much less stressful. I hope we continue to see more Live threads from Norwegian Jade this year. Thank you for taking the time from your vacation to help the rest of us.
  4. Wanted to say THANK YOU for posting the MDR breakfast and lunch menus, don't think I've ever seen them before. It also lets me know which specialty coffees I can get there. Never much been a MDR person, but this makes me very excited to try all of it! 😁
  5. And have him email the CEO. This seems to be a case where NCL on board customer service staff have handled this poorly. Try this email too... publicrelations@ncl.com and Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) executive customer service contacts Primary Contact Katty Byrd Vice President, Guest Services kbyrd@ncl.com

    Whittier

The shorter excursion to Blackstone Bay I had also looked at, but it appears we will be there before the tours start up for the season. When all is said and done I'll probably opt for a chill-day and just enjoy the local offerings and a scenic walk-about.
  7. Have him go specifically to the HOTEL DIRECTOR, have him settle for nothing less - no customer service people, no in-between people. The Hotel Director.

    Whittier

I imagine the turnaround day passengers will be back on board roughly by 1030am. Would love to get out and off of the ship for several hours and enjoy the local economy and some tasty lunch. According to Google maps it is about a 12 minute walk over to the Swiftwater Seafood Café. There doesn't look like there's anything at all in regards to a 'town' where some of the things you mentioned are available, are there local shops that you can specifically point out?
  9. Amy idea when the itineraries and prices will be released? It should be interesting.
  10. Any recommendations for a really great breakfast? I'll be there twice in early 2025 and would love to go ashore and support the local economy. 😁

    Whittier

Thanks OP for this thread. NCL will be using Whittier for the first time ever starting in April 2025, and I've been doing some limited research and what is available to do there. It'll be my turnaround day coming up from Florida through the Panama Canal, followed by a 7-night southbound to Vancouver. We are there roughly from 5am to 8pm, and I'm not sure what time the turnaround passengers will have to disembark to clear for re-embarkation. Lots of great suggestions on tours, including the option to eat at the Swiftwater Seafood Cafe. For those that have dined there, how was the walk from the cruise ship terminal?
  12. Thank you for the pictures. Looks like your cruise is off to a great start! As for the listed Customization Options at the Java Café, when you find time over the next week can you ask if I am charged extra for those if I have the coffee package. Very much appreciate it! Enjoy St. Thomas tomorrow! Always loved the fact that AT&T is available without using the ship's Wi-Fi package.
  13. This looks absolutely lovely! I'll get to visit Hubbard Glacier twice, so it will be interesting to see the set up on Norwegian Jade. Your pictures remind me that I will need to pack some winter-wear for Glacier Day! 😉
  14. Your experience in Cagney's is very upsetting. I travel solo as well and plan on limiting my specialty dining experiences to La Cucina and Sushi, both which were reviewed favorably by @umaine89. I'll wait until I get on board next year to see if they offer a better deal on the dining packages, but right now they seem to be too expensive ($40+ a meal) to even consider. Hope you get the opportunity to dine in Jasmine's which is complementary. If you happen to make it past the Starbucks coffee shop can you do me a favor? I was reading the menu board and was wondering what the added flavored syrup options are, and if I had the Starbucks package would I get charged for those and/or the added espresso shot? Customization Options Add Flavored Syrup, Regular or Sugar-Free Add Espresso Shot Add Soy milk, Almond milk, or Coconut milk Looking forward to your daily updates! I'm very excited to be cruising Norwegian Jade next year. 👍😁
  15. So, I've probably been to a Starbucks less than a half a dozen times in my life, much less never been to one on an NCL ship. Was reading the menu board off of Norwegian Jade and was wondering what the added flavored syrup options are, and if I had the Starbucks package would I get charged for those and/or the added espresso shot? Customization Options Add Flavored Syrup, Regular or Sugar-Free Add Espresso Shot Add Soy milk, Almond milk, or Coconut milk 😁
