  1. We stayed in a beautiful hotel. Reasonably priced: the Alegria a Lisbon Boutique hotel. Recommended by Rick Steves. It was across from a lovely little park and walking distance to where we picked up our food tour. It was practically perfect. A delicious buffet breakfast in the am. We took an Eating Europe Best of Lisbon Tuk Tuk Tour. It was four hours and we went all over Lisbon. Great when limited on time. We arranged a private tour but they have group tours as well. Big fan of Eating Europe. I have been on four of their tours. Have a great time! oh and you might want to check out the board in Ports of Call.
  2. It's Illusionarium not Imaginarium. My bad.
  3. From what I understand, NCL has MDQ's contract for two more years.
  4. I heard from someone who works on board that the Imaginarium will stay the same. They do Broadway Unplugged in there. I have also heard that they will take up the dance floor in the Tropicana as Burn the Floor is no longer on the Getaway.
  5. Can you rent a car at the cruise ship port? We will be on a Windstar ship and would like to rent a car when our cruise is over.
  6. I would like to recommend a website called whatsinport.com It says "it is your cruise guide to 1200 ports of call". It was very helpful to me in planning our Mediterranean cruise on the NCL Getaway last August. Palamos is one of the ports listed.
  7. The Windstar ship with the sails. My fav cruise of all time was on a Windstar ship from Istanbul to Athens.
  8. Barcelona was the cruise port I was most looking forward to last August 2023. It was very crowded and hot. Now I do not know why the NCL excursions are not showing up, but I would recommend a private tour. (or at least a semi-private tour) We used Pepito tours and Jose Sole is the tour guide who responded to us and made arrangements. (He might be the owner) We had a private guide (not Jose, but a knowledgable, fun young woman from Barcelona) and driver. We were able to zip around and beat the crowds. Jose has one of the tours recommended by Rick Steves. We did all things Gaudi, but I think you can customize their tours. They met us at the ship. It was fantastic. Our guide even recommended a fabulous tapas restaurant for lunch when we were finished. There was a line waiting to get in and she helped us skip the line and get a great table. We met our son and DIL there for lunch. It was my favorite day on the cruise. I would love to go back there someday. Good luck!
  9. In August, we were on a Mediterranean cruise on the Getaway staying in the Haven. We got permission for our son and DIL (who work on the ship) to have lunch with us in the Haven on a port day. We could not get permission for them to have dinner with us as the Haven was completely full and very busy. It was $30 per person. So yes, you have to be invited by a Haven guest to eat in the Haven and even then, you might not get permission. I went thru the concierge and dining room supervisor. I think the money is worth it for the experience. We all really enjoyed it.
  10. We were on the Getaway several weeks ago. The Viva was in port with us in Cannes. She was so impressive and beautiful!
