  1. @VictOriannThe last picture looks like an angel going back to the heavens after paying earth with a beautiful rainbow of light. Thank you.
  2. While scrolling along in google land I saw a quiz that said if you could get 15 right, you had a photographic memory. I thought what the heck...the questions were about TV. Apparently I watched too much tv. The results are in You scored 58 out of 60 RetryCONGRATULATIONS!You’re a classic TV show guru. You aced the quiz and demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the golden age of television. You’re a true connoisseur of classic shows, and your love for TV shines through. Keep up the fantastic work!
  3. Good Saturday Morning Dailyites! Thank you @grapau27for the information on the rolling foam. I first thought it was taking the foam off the futon and rolling it back up and putting it in the closet. Which I always find challenging. Last night DH and I went outside to see the ISS go over, and we saw a lot of red in the sky. At first I thought it was a neon disaster, but it turned out it was the aurora. This far south! The solar storm in this area had increased, so I am thinking those up north must have had quite a show. The temps dropped yesterday, very low humidity, had to turn the heater back on on the porch. Kittens are trying to escape from the box, and Munchkin will have none of it. They stand on their back legs, get those tiny claws into the top of the box, and start pulling themselves up , poke their heads over the edge to see the rest of the world, and Momma cat runs over and bops them on the heads until they let go, and drop back down into the box. I followed the nurses directions on sleeping with my head elevated, it actually helped with the pain, so I slept on the sofa, with one cat (who had me pinned so well, that I had no idea who it was) and slept for 8 hours. The whole time sliding down off the pillows, until I became a ball at the end of the sofa, but I slept! 8 hours in a row! No waking up! No leg cramps! No one getting up and turning on all the lights. Sleep, it's so wonderful, if I didnt have to go to the laundromat today, I would consider doing it all day....
  4. @StLouisCruisers Have a wonderful cruise! Bon Voyage!
  5. @1ANGELCAT I am so sorry to read about Houdini, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
  6. @colbeThanks for the beautiful pictures. I have only seen the aurora one time, New Years Eve 1975 Minnesota. Awe inspiring! Welcome to the daily!
  7. I'm back, I ate, I slept, and I am glad I didn't die at the oral surgeons, whether OK or not Being as hungry as I was though, and in no pain, Donna and Chuck ran off to get me some chick fil a strips, a vanilla milkshake that I ate with a spoon, and a bag of potato chips. My request. I still was not in pain when they returned, but was still very hungry, and I ate it all. My tummy was happy, my blood sugar didn't go sky rocketing, and I felt fine....for about 20 minutes. They decided to put me under, and not use the laughing gas, and there were 4 techs and nurses, and they all had a terrible time trying to find a vein...I hate needles, but when you don't let me hydrate the night before, then my veins just hide. So I had bandaids on both arms when I de- fuzzed I removed both of them, and my arms are pretty bruised up. I remember before we left, that they said I could chew real food on the right, and the mushy food on the left. Figured I was ok. After I ate, and took a nap, woke up and I read that I was only supposed to eat mushy food today. And I was in pain, BUT the pain pills are hard core, so I told DH not to get them filled, and then after that nap, I told him to get them filled. But then, I read the small print, that I would not be able to drive if I took them, and since in reality I am the driver, and he is having surgery next week, that's a no for me. I did not pick them up yet. And I will stop by tomorrow and tell them to put them back. Last week I washed too many clothes, and the washer took all that cat fur and clogged the drain. DH monitored every load, and then when I was drying the last load, it stopped in the middle of the drying, and everything was WAY TOO HOT! There was still 30 minutes on the count down, and i shut it off. So we are off sometime to look for a washer and dryer, and until then, I get to meet my neighbors at the laundromat. So that is what I will be doing tomorrow. The machines I have are over 25 years old. I bought them used from two guys who wanted to upgrade, and they have worked fine until about a month ago. But now I am scared that they will catch fire, and it turns out that DH never fixed the smoke detector that was part of the original built in alarm system. He says I worry too much, but there might be a good reason for that. @StLouisCruisers You had a lucky drive, seems the storms hit Tallahassee quite hard, and kept on heading east. And it got quite cool up here last night. @JazzyVIf there is a downstairs bed for your BFF, maybe the two of you can be together and help each other out. I take it you have gotten back to the upstairs bed, and I am so glad that you are sleeping now. Speaking of sleeping, I have been told by the nurse that I have to sleep with my head highly elevated this evening. Bleeding should stop in 2 days. Sofa time with the cats again! For those who get to see the aurora tonight I am jealous. The scientists did say it could interfere with radio and broadcasting, but I am still jealous. I get to see the International Space station tonight -if I can stay awake. If you are interested in seeing the ISS, you can google ISS and register. They will send you notices of date and time when it can be seen in your zip code area. I have notices set up at 12 hours in advance. There was a 7 minute viewing this morning, I was up, but the clouds were too. It's clear now, and the viewing will be a 6 minute sky view. I always wave as they go over. I doubt if they see that. @erewhonI have seen that notice years ago. I shut off the computer, and DH put black tape over the camera hole. Now we have weekly zoom meetings for work to go to, so the tape is gone. Our sound is always turned off, unless we are listening to Father David.
  8. Good Friday Morning Dailyites! I thought I'd pop in to say "Hey" before we left for the Oral Surgeon, and I plan on sleeping the rest of the day. I think we got 3 hours sleep, not from nervousness, just DH couldnt settle down to sleep. Which with the lights coming on, and going off made it like a lightning storm. Speaking of which, we had several huge bangs and crackle yesterday, without rain involved. Just "out of the blue" no pre rumblings. The storms were heading south so I do hope that @StLouisCruisers is having a safe drive south. I was doing really well trying to make a sale last night, and the very nice man said, well, I really only want one production. So after 34 minutes of giving price quotes and seating availability, I said if he really only wanted the one, I would erase this info, but he would have to call or go on line to just get one opera, as I only can sell a 3 pack. We parted ways, and DH said he was sorry I really had my heart in on that sale. 10 minutes later my boss called me to commiserate with me, as the call had been monitored, BUT he said the man actually called the number on the phone back, which had been made active yesterday and asked for me, so I called him back and I made a larger sale than I had quoted. And once again, the computer screen did not add correctly. So I worked more than 8 hours yesterday, and the bosses have to make some adjustment for me to get paid the extra 30 minutes. Poor bosses though, they had to make adjustments to get the total right. The computer keeps charging more than the sale. Talk about hidden fees, we cant see them. I had a hamster (due to cat allergy). HIs name was Hubert Horatio Hamster. They are cute, but you really cant snuggle up at night with one, and they lack a lot of personality. Huberts's biggest adventure was escaping from his cage, when we were on vacation, and he took all of his bedding and food and moved into my mothers' shower. I dont think a Hostess cupcake is on my menu today, but I ate my fair share when I was in high school. I prefer to never eat ground turkey, and I have never been to Nova Scotia, but would love the visit. I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful Friday. I hope I can eat something once this is over this morning, and I really NEED coffee, but again, no food or drink until post surgery.
  9. Euripides ? Eumendides? sorry...dad joke. Good Thursday Morning Dailyites! Currently 72 and cloudy. The computer says its mostly cloudy. It is completely cloudy. We are under a tornado watch until 1, the rain they said would be in Stone Mountain at 3 am never came this far south. But they keep saying it will get here. My neighbor doesn't like to leave home or the dog when the weather is bad, so she is home today. Since DH has informed me that if he takes his pain pills the night before, he wont be able to drive me to the docs tomorrow morning, I asked Donna (the neighbor) if she could take me, and she said yes, so I guess she gets two days off. I am so grateful to have her as a friend and neighbor. I thought that if they gave me "laughing gas" I wouldnt have a problem driving home, but have been informed by my friend Penny, that it will put me in a twilight sleep, and I wont be able to drive home. Years ago during a tornado watch my boss told us to flip the shutters in the office to up, not down, in the event that the building was hit. This would keep glass flying all over us if we got hit, so last night I turned our shutters to the up in the bedroom. I felt safer, but way too warm. Yesterday while we were out, we had lunch at Pastries a go go. They make a great chef salad, and when they reopened for seating after Covid, they didnt have a baker, and the pastries were gone. But they must have hired someone because they had pastries again! And free samples of Conchas (Mexican Sweet Bread). I bought two for our breakfast this morning. They are about the size of a mid size bagel, and while not very sweet, they were good, so I cant wait til my stomach gets hungry. I hope you all stay safe today with the weather and the world, have a wonderful day!
  10. Back from todays adventure-DH is scheduled for another 4 hour procedure next Tuesday to replace or clean out the stent in his leg. They are going to call to verify. They were unable to finish the procedure last time because they needed the laser to work, and it didn't . Hoping that they verify that it is working before the next surgery. I almost forgot about work this morning, as I stopped to talk to the kittens after walking the neighbors dog. They are SOOOO CUTE! More pictures to come soon.
  11. Good Wednesday Morning Dailyites! The sun is not up high enough for me to verify it's existence for today, but it seems that since the birds are up and feeding at the feeder, it must be as it is light in the front of the house, and still dark in the back. The trip to vet for Munchikin and the 4 "monster" babies was a bit of a learning experience. Turns out kitten food should be fed to the mother to help produce milk for the kittens. I thought it was food for the kittens when they are old enough to eat. And it is , but it should be Munchkins food for now. She hates it. But she is not producing enough milk for the babies.so now DH and I have to take over supplemental feeding. And I can mix the food in with her regular food, so we are hoping that helps. The babies are growing, and slowly walking around in their box. The white and black one, is even standing on her back legs, pulling herself up to the top of the box to look out and see the world. The "herd" consists of two girls and two boys. The vet didn't really know how much they should weigh, but based on Momma's lack of milk, she thinks they should be a little more in weight. Sadly I could find more on the internet regarding kittens, than this vet knew. We got the kittens and Momma all settled back on the porch, and then ran out to get what we needed, more kitten food, litter for mom, litter for our indoorians, paper plates to feed the cat gang on, and lunch, and whatever dinner might be. On the way home on a 3 lane highway, and me driving in the right lane, some idiot turned from the center lane into my lane, so that he could drive into a business parking lot. I saw the motion to get in my lane,so I started slowing down, but he crossed right in front of me and I had to slam on the brakes. I told DH if we had two cars, I really would have slammed right into this idiot, but we dont, so DH and I were both pretty shooken up by the very quick stop, and I probably wore flat spots on the tires. I was still shaking by the time we got home, and got the groceries out, and I learned once again that Stress will affect your blood sugar, as all of a sudden my diabetes meter started screaming. I checked it, the graph showed it had shot straight up. Sat for a few minutes to calm down and then went to work. I owe my boss one hour this morning, and then take DH to his heart and vein doc appointment. Since the PET scan showed irritation on his leg stent, more surgery is in the very near future. This was the area that the doc could not clear without a laser, and the laser was not working the day of his previous surgery. So back to the hospital, soon! I now need to go back and catch up on reading yesterdays daily. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe day. Before I forget, my Dad told me that one of the worst days in history for animals was in the late 1890's. Vermont. August. The cattle were up on the hills, and a snow storm-really a blizzard came in, and no one could get to the animals, they pretty much froze to death, so it is important to be aware of National Animal Disaster preparedness Day..
