Dinner dress code on Explorer?

Hi fellow travelers - we are beginning to pack for our May 16th sailing on Silver Explorer. It is nice for once to not be dragging the formal dresses and shoes. We do love dressing up, but we are looking forward to this way of cruising.

What should we expect as dress code in the dining room in the evenings?

Jackets on a few gentlemen but not essential. Casual for the ladies too but some sparkly tops. No jeans spotted in the evening in Antarctica.

Very casual, I always take one blazer/sports jacket for Captains invite and Venitian night but otherwise sweater is good, depending on where you are, certainly no jeans at night, it is a very relaxed happy ship.:😄

Hi All - thank you for the info on the dress code on Explorer! The links posted by JP were so helpful! I off to find some sparkly tops :-)

We have always been in cooler climates on Explorer. I take a pair of black dress pants and several tops (either sparkly or velvet) that will go. Also take a couple of cocktail dresses, but I am the girl who likes to dress up. It is definitely not required.

Husband does not take a jacket. He wears nice pants and shirt every evening, but not a tie or jacket.
