ahoymatey3 Posted May 10, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2005 Hi all. Does anyone have menus for the Olympic Restuarant on the Millenium? Also, do they offer special 'wine tasting' menus or pairings with the regular menu? Thanks!
boten Posted May 11, 2005 #2 Share Posted May 11, 2005 There are three courses at the Olympic - Gold, Silver, Bronze
tak2 Posted May 11, 2005 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2005 Can you please elaborate? I thought there's just (1) choice of soup, salad, or appetizer, (2) main course, (3) dessert. I read from cruisemates.com discussion board that there's no tastings menu, but wine pairing is offered for $27 more.
hajekfam Posted May 11, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 11, 2005 A serious answer to the question-Here are some websites that have menus: From Celebrity's website a sample specialty menu: http://www.celebrity.com/whyceleb/SingleInclude.do?pagename=specialty_dining_menu From cruise clues website, there are pictures of the Normandie's restaurant - the Summit's equivalent of the Olympic (go to the pictures of the Normandie restaurant): http://community.webshots.com/album/75017138bxkZnF/
chesterh Posted May 11, 2005 #5 Share Posted May 11, 2005 I scanned the Olympic menu and converted it to a PDF file -- click here to view the menu. Be advised that the file is large (384K) and may take a while to load if you have a slow connection. As you'll see, there is a suggested wine for every menu item, available by the glass for widely varying prices. chesterh

dollfan Posted May 12, 2005 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2005 This is not the menu we had in March in the Olympic. One side of the menu had the wine pairing/food selection 6 course the other side had the regular menu with wine suggestions only 4 course. You either chose the wine pairing menu or the other. We chose the wine pairing but I insisted on having the Steak Diane as my entree which was not on the wine pairing menu and they were not happy and tried to discourage me but they gave in. Other than that annoyance. The food, atmosphere, etc was fabulous. I also enjoyed the wines, although I must admit you could easily get a little tipsy if you haven't eaten all day. ahoymatey3 Posted May 12, 2005 Author #8 Share Posted May 12, 2005 Thanks, dollfan. The 6 course sounds divine. I had a 6-cource tasting menu at the Pinnacle aboard a recent cruise on the Maasdam. It was one of my best meals/service of all time.

Stranger1 Posted May 24, 2005 #11 Share Posted May 24, 2005 I believe, if memory serves, that the soup, salad, and appetizer were three separate courses. Add the cheese, main course, and the dessert and you have 6.
zalusky Posted May 24, 2005 #12 Share Posted May 24, 2005 You can actually ask for more like soup and salad but its much richer and the portions larger than the main restaurant. My wife and I split a goat cheese soufflet and Caeser salad. They prepared the salad and split the portions onto separate plates. Even then the portions were substantial. They wont do that with the Soufflet, we just swapped plates at the appropriate moment. We went twice and the first time we each ordered the soufflet and the Lobster Veloute soup. We were stuffed to the point of not enjoying the later courses. I do wish they would have more specials of the day like upstairs.
Brad1185 Posted May 25, 2005 #13 Share Posted May 25, 2005 I believe the 5 course costs $57 pp and the 3 course costs $30 pp. With the 5 course you get wine. All at the table must choose the same, 5 course or 3 and you cannot mix.
