mimi05052012 Posted February 10, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2016 We are sailing on the Breakaway; leaving NY on 2/21. Going to give parking at the port a try this time. I believe the parking is outdoors on top of the cruise terminal. We'll have gear with us to shovel out the car if it snows while we gone. If it snows the week before and the folks just getting back have to shovel out their cars, will it be total chaos trying to get a parking spot when we arrive? Is it already a mess due to the last, large snowstorm? We took car service last time and it was a little crazy meeting up with the driver so we figured we'd try driving ourselves and parking this time since there are 4 of us and 20 month old grandson. Appreciate any insight. Thanks!
Twickenham Posted February 10, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2016 There was a snowstorm the day before our Bermuda cruise out of NYC a few years ago (yes, at the end of October!) While there was plenty of snow on the waiting cars, parking was pretty easy. I don't recall any particular issues.
tinadago Posted February 12, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2016 Look into valetanywhere.com! They worked out great for us. Half the price of parking at the pier. And the car was nice and toasty and running. We didn't have to wait for it to warm up or scrape Windows or push snow off of it. Look it up. mimi05052012 Posted February 13, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted February 13, 2016 thanks for the responses. Glad to hear snow didn't have any impact. I'm not sure valetanywhere would work for us. Don't you have to take them with you in your car when you get dropped off? There are 5 of us already in 5 passenger vehicle. Where do they pick you up after the cruise? It was not easy meeting up with our driver when we used car service last time. Perhaps we could use this for our cruise in the fall when it's just DH and me. thanks for your input! tinadago Posted February 13, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 13, 2016 No you take your car to the pier and they take your keys from there and drive your car to their garage. When you come back they bring your car back to the pier.

Looks like we should be good to go on Sunday. Can't wait! There's a chance of snow while we are gone but hoping that will melt before we return. Regardless, not going to worry about it!
