How long at immigration at T4?

 Share

Recommended Posts

We're flying into Heathrow T4 from Paris CDG this Friday, landing at 10.30am. There;s just two flights which get in before us, one form Amsterdam and the other from Malta. Am wondering what time I should book our transfer to London, two hours after arrival, or would 1.5 be fine? The cab service will wait for an extra half hour after our requested pick-up time.

Am wondering if there is increased security check at immigration, making for slower moving lines. Hoping you will be able to help, especially those who've recently landed at Heathrow or had friends/family who did.

My questions never seem to end, do they? Thanks in advance and have a great week ahead:)

Where do you get this from? That seems highly unlikely. From what I can see from published timetables, on Friday morning the following flights are scheduled to arrive at Terminal 4 before yours:-
BI97	Dubai 05:55	Boeing 787
SV113	Jeddah 06:20	Boeing 777-300ER
GF7	Bahrain 06:25	Airbus 330-200
WY103	Muscat 06:30	Airbus 330-300
CZ603	Guangzhou	06:35	Boeing 787
SV107	Riyadh 07:15	Boeing 777-300
EY11	Abu Dhabi	07:35	Airbus 380-800
KL1001	Amsterdam	07:40	Boeing 737-700
AF1680	Paris CDG	07:50	Boeing 787-9
KL1007	Amsterdam	09:00	Boeing 737-800
SU2580	Moscow SVO	09:30	Airbus 321
SU2574	Moscow SVO	09:45	Airbus 320
KM100	Malta 09:45	Airbus 320
KU103	Kuwait 10:00	Boeing 777-300
AF1580	Paris CDG	10:30	Airbus 320

Although those arrivals are spread over a number of hours, you can see that it's a steady stream including a widebody arrival from Kuwait immediately before yours.

But this is pretty standard stuff for Heathrow, which after all receives one arriving aircraft every minute during most times of the day. So if you book a cab for 1½ hours after scheduled arrival, you will probably be fine and you would still have the 30 minute margin before any extra charges kick in. If your specific flight gets delayed, most of the experienced operators should be aware of the new estimated arrival time and plan accordingly.

There is no security check at immigration. You clear immigration, you collect your bags and you clear customs through honesty channels in which most passengers are not stopped.

Thanks Globaliser, for some reason my search only showed the Amsterdam and Malta flights!

Anyway, will request a pickup 90 minutes after landing, we also have the 30 minute cushion the car service offers.

Thanks again, Prish
