We will be in Curacao on 12/15/10 and would like to spend the day at hotel to use their facilities/snorkel/lunch. Any suggestions? And can you just walk in or do you need a day pass?

Was in Curacao last week and got day passes for Breezes. They were $75.00 each. Turned out to be a waste of money. I didn't like the food or the drinks (served in 4 oz plastic cups). Bartender was very nice though. The place seemed a bit run down. Some parts of the pool were a bit moldy/mildewy. Kids in diapers using the hot tubs as swimming pools. You can probably find a much better non-all inclusive hotel and just buy your drinks/food. Total round trip to get there was $6.00 for two people. We caught the local bus/van near the floating market. One guy wanted to charge us $20.00 for a taxi one way.

Will be in curacao in December this year. Also looking for a hotel with a nice beach and pool, not interested in AI, but will pay reasonable price for day pass. Last time we were there we took an island tour, which was somewhat underwhelming.

The Marriott and Hilton are right next to each other and only separated by the dive/snorkel shop. Whenever we stay ther (prefer the Marriott side) we see cruisers in for the day although we're never sure which resort they actually bought a day pass to if any. The Marriott has some great snorkeling and a beautiful pool with a swim up bar if you are able to get a pass there. The snorkeling in the Marriott area was so good that the Hilton guest were enjoying it extensively. We walked along the Hilton sea wall and found some stairs to enter and snorkel but there wasn't a true reef (at least where we were) but the water was clear and we did see some cool cuddle fish. The food and drinks at the Marriott were very nice and the bartender was entertaining and generous. The beach area had several palapas and lots of loungers...just bring some water shoes in case the water gets rough as there are a few coral rocks since there's an actual reef right in fron of the beach.

Caribbean resort day pass article:

Thanks. Unfortunately this article has no info on Curacao resort day passes. They're some out there, but we have to do the research and to find them. If I find an all-inclusive in Curacao I would purchase an over night stay so I can be there all day since my ship is in port for 13hrs. If the cost is outrageous I'll just do a tour then head back to the ship.:(

We are looking to do this to if you find any info please let me know and I'll do the same. Not really shoppers and would maybe visit the distillery. Sounds like most catch a cab to the hotels and hope to get a beach pass or just chance it. Tried the Marriot site and wasn't available? Pam

Marriot Day Passes are based on availability. The day pass fee, at this time, is $25.00 per person. Available from 9am to 5pm..use of the beach, pool and fitness center. No meals or beverages included.

Hi Pam,

Sure I will keep you updated on what I find. I had called this hotel directly for the information. The info probably didn't come up because I was still signed into the website. I'll try again.

Here's the basic Marriot information I received when I called them:

Marriot is not a traditional "all inclusive" resort. (Didn't think so, but hoped so since it's in Curacao) If you stay for 5 days you get free breakfast...Anyhoo, Per Allysa: Day passes are based on availability. The day pass fee, at this time, is $25.00 per person. Available from 9am to 5pm..use of the beach, pool and fitness center. No meals or beverages included.

We are thinking about getting a room at the Marriott for $188 all-in. Marrriott has a Megabonus offer of one free night for every two stayed which we value at $75 per stay ($150 per certificate). We value the points earned from the trip at about $15. So for a family of four it's cheaper to rent the room and have a place to keep our stuff and not have to use a public rest room and so forth.

That sure is a better deal and convenient. (All-In, means what?) What's included?

We just got back and used resortforaday dot com. We went to Santa Barbara. It was very clean, friendly and had a nice pool area. Food is ordered and served poolside or at the beach. We had access to all the non-alcoholic drinks as well as those with alcohol. They have a non-alcoholic Oreo ice cream milkshake that was yummy. The transportation was a new bus with ac. Pickup was prompt and return back to the ship was in plenty of time.
