Cam Dizzle Posted January 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2014 What are people's experience recently with trying to get a package of bottled water onto your ship? From some reports I have read, it seems Port Canaveral is one of the few not allowing it. Anyone try recently? With or without success?
CruiserBruce Posted January 28, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) That would be up to the policies of the cruise line. The dock staff doesn't care, as long as the cruise line is OK with it. That being said, there is no reason to bring more than one refillable bottle of water per person on board. The water on board is as pure and good tasting as any bottled water, if not better, is FREE, and doesn't come with a plastic waste problem. cruisegirl1 Posted January 28, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2014 We sail from Port Canaveral several time per year. We only take a few bottles packed in a suitcase, but it seems that recently the porters are not taking the water and folks have to carry the cases on board. During spring breaks, we've observed security cutting the plastic wrapping and checking a random bottle to make sure it is water. So - now that the wrapping is cut the case appears more cumbersome to carry around. By the way, we put our few bottles in a bag that has our snorkel gear and a few non essentials in case the bag is diverted to security. enjoy M
