Temperatures?

Hello! We are thinking about a cruise from NYC to Quebec City and back this fall. However, we have never cruised in cooler temperatures. This may sound dumb, but I honestly don't know. Can you still sit out on the deck comfortably? How cool would it be if we went in October? Which cruises to Canada from NYC are the best? THANKS!

Which are "best" depends on you. Some cruise lines cater to older folks, some to younger. Some more active, some less so. There are big ships and small ships and in between ships and there are customers for all.

Without knowing anything about you it's impossible to make a recommendation.

This is where a good Cruise Specialist Travel Agent would be most valuable to you.

We just returned from Canada and New England cruise. Joined cruise in Quebec City on Oct. 22. It was cold but beautiful. The trees were just past prime but wonderful colors for a Texan to see. We couldn't sit on deck without a coat (we had snow one day). Loved the cruise. Some of the towns were basically shutting down when we left but the people were so welcoming to us.

When in October are you thinking.

The reality is that weather can vary quite a bit in most places day to day, week to week and year over year and this is an example of a place where that can happen.

You might be able to sit out or it might be too chilly or rainy.

It's anyone's guess.

I live in NY and have traveled up the coast to Quebec during Sep and Oct. The reality is that the weather can fluctuate quite a bit from day to day and place to place. Mid-day can also be quite warm and the evening chilly. The best thing to do is pack with layers in mind. Be prepared for anywhere from upper 70's to 50's. Bring a light jacket and also a light rain coat or throw away poncho in case of a rainy day. I'm sorry...it's impossible to be more specific.
