Island Specific alcohol

We are cruising on the Fascination this Sunday.

I was hoping people can tell me some not so ordinary alcohols to look for in Barbados. I am trying to find stuff that we cannot purchase in the US and can only be found on the particular island.

Thanks,

Howard

The consensus among rum lovers is that Mount Gay Extra Old Rum generally ranks the best.

It runs about US$40+ stateside for a 750ml bottle and about ½ of that on the island.

An exceptional rum that consistently scores in the 93+ category in rum tastings.

Enjoy! :)

Go for the best in Barbados IMHO

St Nic's 18 - Have your bottle personally engraved.

Refills half price. Great day visit and tour to the Abbey distillery.

Pour, leave to sit and air for 20 minutes, no ice please, no water please.

Just sip and enjoy. There is a Father Christmas (Saint Nick).

Mount Gay Extra Old (aka XO) is a favourite, it is a sweet rum. My husband prefers Old Brigand, my uncles like Old Gold. If you are going on a tour to The Mount Gay Visitors Centre (very close to the cruise port) you will find a wider selection of older rums and special blends.

For a good sipping rum (and a lovely tour) go to St. Nicholas Abby, the etched bottle alone is worth it.

By close to the cruise port, do you mean it is within walking distance?

Also how far is St Nucholas Abbey?

Think my husband would be interested in both of these centres.
