St Thomas vs St Martin

First choice: Capt. Alan in St Martin. Went to 2 deserted marine reserves plus a beach. Saw octopi, turtles, lots of fish.

For snorkeling, St Thomas has lots of options but DO NOT go to Buck Island/Turtle Cove. Been 5 times (last by accident, see more under my post for Jewel of Sea in RCCL thread): always a choppy ride over and very murky conditions, tons of snorkelers on top of each other, and you will be forced to do a guided snorkel.

Not Coki. Sapphire can be v. crowded but good snorkeling along rocks. Water Island is overrun now. Try Smiths Bay/Lindquist beach, even Secret. Diving at Christmas Cove is supposed to be good, along with snorkeling there.
