They may just as well have pulled them out of thin air.

You mean like your guy did ?

It's actually pretty simple to figure out the house odds, there are only a certain number of results that can be had, the problem came that nobody would spend enough time to figure out what each of those results would be, it wasn't until computers really became quick enough that a true percentage could be gotten.

However, as I am not going to go back and forth with you over who is right, your friend or all the casinos in Las Vegas, the State of Nevada, the State of New jersey, all the casinos or New Jersey who all use the same software to run the odds, or again your friend who sat and watched the game, where as the odds are built around pure math.

HHHHHEEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOOO jewet1: The Math professor did not pull his results out of thin air. In fact, it was part of a paper he was writing on probablity. And of course the odds are pure math. It has to be since it is all based on probability. Of course, we go into a casino to have a good time and tempt fate win or lose. As long as you enjoy yourself, regardless of results, that is all that matters.

  • 6 years later...

I know this is an old thread that got resurrected but it caught my attention because I've just got off a Princess ship with a CSM at the BJ table.

Played the first few days which just reinforced to me how much I HATE them and will not longer play at a table with a CSM.

There was a FUN blackjack table that was dealt from a regular shoe. That's where I'll play from now on.

My wife and I have stopped going on cruises. It was her thing, but I went along since they had a casino onboard. Started noticing most games had gone to min. 8D, and then CSMs started creeping in.

Would go again if we could find ship casinos w/o CSMs, preferably offering DD (yeah I know, but a guy can dream) or 6D games.
