Sahm3 Posted February 15, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2013 Other than formal nights what is the dress code in the dining room and public areas. Their website states no shorts after 6pm in any public places. We are travelling with several teenagers during spring break and they would like to wear nice shorts(no jeans or cutoffs) but were told only long pants were acceptable. Did anyone wear knee length shorts ie cargo and told anything??? What were other people wearing?
Nole0202 Posted February 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2013 Hi We have been on Peosia for several Caribbean cruises. The dress is very casual. Have seen jeans in the dining room at nights, including formals. My husband wears nice shorts to shows and clubs at night.
neptuno Posted February 16, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2013 MSC seems not to enforce any dress code, at least in the Caribbean in my expereince. However, I would say most guests try to dress a bit, especially at dinner. Shorts at dinner maybe allowed, but will look out of place. Just dress as if you were in Rome in the evening. If we'd seen even one, my DH would have started wearing his. He often changed back after eating and had no problems wearing shorts in the Casino, lounges or shows. 2910car Posted February 20, 2013 #6 Share Posted February 20, 2013 We are sailing on her Saturday and just stating to pack. I usually wear colored jeans (not blue) on non formal nights on other cruises. Do you think this is okay on the Poesia?
Nole0202 Posted February 20, 2013 #7 Share Posted February 20, 2013 No problem on the semi-casual nights, especially on the Caribbean cruises during spring break.

Skipper Tim Posted February 20, 2013 #9 Share Posted February 20, 2013 I did not see anyone in shorts in DR and I dont won't to see:rolleyes: .I would prefer jeans . Suit trousers are much lighter, smarter and cooler than jeans. What is this race to the bottom?

neptuno Posted February 25, 2013 #11 Share Posted February 25, 2013 Suit trousers are much lighter, smarter and cooler than jeans. What is this race to the bottom? Well put Skipper Tim. There is always Carnival or Norwegian for those who care not to dress. We've just returned from a week aboard Poesia, and were pleased to see that most are dressing nicely. Those who don't seem out of place.
