How is Dominica now?

The first Royal Princess cruise of the season due to stop in Dominica returns to Fort Lauderdale tomorrow so we should get more info then. I leave tomorrow on a B2B that includes the Dominica stop on the second leg. All I have heard from the current cruise was a posting on our Roll Call about donating school supplies. She didn't mention anything about the condition of the island.

I received the following message 1 Sep from our tour guide:

Thanks for your concern. There was quite a bit of Damage done to the Island by TS Eryka and unfortunately about 31 are confirmed dead so far. I am doing fine since most of the damage was about 5 miles of where I live.

It's sad but we are up and trying to do what we can as fast as we can.

Thanks again for your concern and hopefully we will see you in 2017. The Island will be back be better than ever.

The island has remarkable spirit!
