I will be taking my 13 year old nephew with me on an Alaskan cruise on the Ruby. I was looking for information about the ship and found your amazing review. I like that it is full of details and pictures.

I'm sorry you didn't try the teen lounge Remix. My nephew is curious about it. I guess he'll just have to try it and see if he likes it!

Ruby leaves 7/12 from Seattle. Since we have to fly there to get the ship, we decided to spend 2 days touring Seattle. I'm looking forward to reading some more about your cruise and things to do on the Ruby.

I have been on 1 ocean cruise before and this will be the first cruise for my nephew. He is so excited you would think I'm taking him to the moon! I'm excited, too. I'm trying to decide if I like big ocean cruise ships or smaller river boat cruises better. I've done one ocean cruise and one river boat. They have a lot of similarities but also some differences. Then in July I'll do my second ocean cruise on the Ruby to Alaska and in December I'll do my 2nd river boat cruise. But, you know, I may like both - I just like to travel.

Alex, thanks for your review - the details about the ship are very helpful. I'm going to make sure we study the deck plans before we go. Any helpful hints or ideas are appreciated, Fran, Dallas Texas

You are going to have such an amazing time on the Ruby!! It's an amazing and beautiful ship, and huge!! I thought the Ruby was huge, but there are ships triple her size! Thank you for reading my review, I am so glad this is helping you get excited for your Alaskan cruise, you and your nephew are going to have a blast aboard the Ruby! The time I had onboard was unforgettable and amazing!

I have always wanted to visit Seattle, I've seen photos and it seems like a beautiful city!! Hope you two have a great time and if you have any questions about the Ruby please feel free to ask! Thank you so much for reading my review, it means a lot! :)

Hi everyone! I am finally back and will try my best to finish up the review for you this week! Wow, it's been over a month since I have last wrote to you all! I have had a very busy month which included a trip to Minnesota to visit one of closest friends and spend some time out there, it was an AMAZING trip, I LOVED Minnesota!! Also, me and grandma have been spending some time on planning next years Caribbean cruise and it has been narrowed down to a 8-day Eastern Caribbean on Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas which stops at: Labadee Haiti, San Juan PR, St. Kitts, and Saint Marteen or a 7-Day Eastern on the Carnival Glory which stops at: Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas, San Juan, and Grand Turk. I am leaning more towards the Royal Caribbean cruise because of all the great things I have heard about RC, so we will see what we end up going for! I really hope we can do the Royal Caribbean cruise!!

I will now start working on the rest of my Ruby Princess review, so let's see where we left off!

The Beautiful Beaches of Cabo!

So after spending some time at Pelican's beach, our boat tour operator guy picked us all up from the beach and offered to take us to another beach, and everyone said yes! I totally forgot the name of this beach, but it was near some resorts and with it being Spring Break during the time we were there, the beach was crowded and full of Spring Breakers! This didn't bother us as we had already spent a wonderful time at Pelican's beach which was pretty much like a private beach in my opinion!! We arrived at this second beach and there was no shade or anywhere to sit! People were charging to rent an umbrella and chairs, but we were going to get picked up in about half an hour, so me and Grandma decided to go to this nearby restaurant and order some smoothies, sit down, relax and enjoy the wonderful scenery!

p><p>After our enjoying some smoothies, we decided to head back to the beach since we still had some time to kill while we waited for our boat to pick us up and take us back to the marina. I was so amazed at how beautiful the water is here in Cabo, it was SUPER CLEAR! I felt like I was back in Cancun, that

p><p>Before we knew it, our boat came to pick us up and took us back to the Marina! We loved our excursion and would do it again in a heartbeat when we go back to Cabo again, it was amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone who visits Cabo, especially when you

We boarded our tender boat, and began the 10 minute ride back to the Ruby Princess after a wonderful day in Cabo, I didn't want to leave, because the next time we would be getting off somewhere, it would be back in LA!

Next up: The rest of our day on the Ruby and Rocky Seas ahead!

The rest of our day in Cabo, from the comfort of the Ruby Princess

Once we got back onboard the ship, we dropped off our stuff in the cabin, and rushed straight up to the buffet, we were super hungry!! It was super nice eating lunch with an amazing view of the Cabo arches as we ate our lunch! This was our last port, and one more sea day after this, and then it we would be back home, sadly! We had a very delicious lunch as usual, the food on this cruise did not disappoint at all, every meal I had was delicious, and I am very picky when it comes to my food!

p><p><img src=Here's Grandma enjoying some time relaxing out on the Promenade, with the Cabo arches in the background!

After spending some time out walking around, we headed up to the Lido deck to see what was going on there on this sunny warm afternoon in Cabo! We made a quick stop to get some ice cream and then watched an ice carving!

p><p>It

After watching the ice sculpting, we headed back down to the Promenade, as it was almost time for departure and we thought it would be fun to watch all the tenders get hooked back onto the ship. Many were out on the Promenade too walking around and enjoying the final minutes we would be anchored in Cabo. Turned out we were running way behind schedule because there were ALOT of people still out in Cabo, and I heard there was a huge line for the tenders, everyone was rushing and waited to the last minute, so this caused a mess and the tenders were racing back and fourth to and from the ship at full speed!

p><p><img src=Tender being loaded back onto the Ruby Princess, next time these tenders would be used, they would be used to tender passengers on the Ruby's California Coastal cruise the week after in Santa Barbara.

Soon after the tenders were loaded up, the anchor was lifted, the engines were fired up, and we were outta there, heading north back to the Port of Los Angeles. We left Cabo at around 3, an hour later than scheduled.

Next up: Rough Seas Ahead!

Glad to hear about the end of your trip. I was wondering what had happened to you. My nephew and I really enjoyed the Ruby Princess - nice ship, great crew, super destination, and my nephew completely enjoyed the teen lounge called Remix because they had so many fun activities going on when we were not in port.

Thank you! Ruby is an amazing ship, and will always have a special place in my heart! :)

Hi Alex! I love your review and am excited to see the Arches in Cabo! Where did you find and reserve your Glass Bottom Boat ride excursion? I really want to do that one in October when we are on the Ruby.

Hi Cathy and Colo! I booked the excursion on this website: http://www.cabosanlucastours.net/Glass-Bottomed-Boat.htm#_=_

Its called the Lover's Beach Glass bottom boat. It's operated through Esperanza Tours. You print out the tickets online before the cruise, and then you show up the day you're in port to the Esperanza Tours booth at the end of the Marina. Very Great excursion!!

I was so happy to see you back finishing your review. I am doing the same ports but on the Crown in December. Really love this cruise cause it's close to home and easy to get to San Pedro. Hope you have a great trip next year whichever one you choose.

Thanks sooooo much for this great review. I'm booked in Ruby to the Mexican Riviera in October. Being from Australia I'm not too sure what to expect however after reading your review I'm so much happier. Glad you had a great time with your grandma! Might I suggest a career as a travel writer? Haha lots of free cruises in that line of work LOL

Hi Alex! As an experienced Royal Caribbean cruiser I thought I would put my 2 cents in. RCCL is one of our favorite lines. We also love Princess (my next cruise will br #21). We are going on the Ruby next fall to do the CA coastal cruise. If you have any questions on RCCL, please feel free to ask :)

You certainly brought me back to the cruise my husband and I took on the Ruby a month after you. I so want to get back on a cruise again! I just don't like having to fly to get to the cruise. I also live in So. Calif. The 10 day Mexican Riviera with Loreto and La Paz in February looks good!

Please keep us posted on your future travels - they're a joy to read!

By the way, was that the end or is there more to come?

Thanks!

Candi you are so lucky! I wish I could be doing another Mexican Riviera on Princess again! They don't have any for when I am on Spring Break next year, or else we would have booked in a heartbeat!!

You're welcome! Thank you for reading!! :) You are going to have an AMAZING time!! I am so jealous!! That's going to be one very long flight from Australia to LA, LOL!! It was an amazing trip indeed, best time of my life, wish I could do this trip all over again, that's how amazing it was! I would love to be a travel writer, not a bad idea at all, might have to look into that if the whole becoming an Airline Pilot thing doesn't work out, haha :)
