The Beginning of Our Wonderful Day in Cabo San Lucas

This morning we awoke bright and early and got ready for our day in Cabo! Today we will be tendering so we had to grab breakfast quick and head straight down to the Michelangelo Dinning Room to get our tender ticket and wait for a tender. I looked at the webcam channel while still in the cabin and we were already anchored in Cabo. We headed up to the Horizon court for a quick breakfast and as I looked outside I saw what I had been dreaming of seeing for years, the iconic Arches of Cabo. OMG is all I could say, my dream had finally came true, I was finally in Cabo San Lucas!! This is what I LOVE about cruising is you wake up everyday in a new place, it is such an exciting and amazing feeling you feel inside when you wake up each day in a new place you've never been to! Just as I was staring at the arches, our dear friend the Carnival Miracle is also pulling into port, the last time we saw her was in PV so it was nice to see her again next to us!

After eating breakfast in the Horizon Court, we headed straight down to the Michelangelo Dining Room to get our tender ticket. We waited about 15 minutes to get called and Princess was VERY organized with their tendering system, I was very impressed and it was all quick and easy. I have heard Carnival tendering is an absolute mess, at least from what I have read from those who've sailed the Miracle to Cabo. Anywho, we were all led to where we needed to go to board the tenders and we went way down to the "bowels" of the ship and got on a tender, you could even smell the smell of fuel from the tenders, LOL. We got on a tender and enjoyed the magnificent views of Cabo and of our ship as we proceeded down to the Marina.

Cabo did have a big hurricane back in October 2014 I believe, and I did see many pictures of the damage and it was a mess, however, today everything looked great and they did an awesome job of reconstructing and fixing everything, you couldn't even tell that a hurricane had just hit a couple months ago!

After a quick 10 minute tender ride, we arrived at the Marina and headed down to where we had to meet our excursion. I was so happy to be doing an excursion finally which I was fortunate to have found online! Today our excursion was a Glass-bottom boat ride to "Los Arcos" (the arches) and they were going to take us to Lover's Beach right next to the arches, so we were both very looking forward to our day here in Cabo!

Thanks so much for sharing your photos and reviews. I love it. The Ruby is one of my favorite Princess ships. The pictures of your plates made me want to hope on a cruise next week!

Good luck to you and enjoy your cruising.

...I am so glad to know I am not the only one who enjoys Mexican Coke so much, sooo delicious craving some right about now, LOL!...

Have you checked around were you live for Mexican Coke? They sell it at Ralph's here in San Diego.

(FYI to those from other parts; Ralph's is a Southern CA chain of supermarkets now owned by Kroger's).

There's a Ralph's down the street from my House, I am going to have to go check that out and see if they have it! I know Costco has them and some local Mexican restaurants have them!

Alex, your review is totally entertaining. I love your relationship with your Grandma and how both of you enjoyed this wonderful vacation together.

I loved the part where you felt your Grandpa's presence with you. I totally believe he was with you every step of the way.

Thanks for taking us along on this enchanting trip. I'll be back to read the next chapter.

Thank you for taking your time to read the review! We had an amazing vacation and would love to do that same exact trip all over again, too bad Ruby and I aren't on the same schedule for Spring Break next year, she will be on a 10-day Mexico cruise and I just don't get that much time off :(

It was amazing when I felt him there, I knew he was with us the whole time, I just wish he could have fully been there with us, he would've LOVED cruising!!

More of the review will be on its way shortly! :)

Our Awesome Day in Cabo: Continued!

After arriving at the marina, we set out to find our meeting spot for our Glass-bottom boat ride for today. I had the tickets all printed out and ready to go, we were super excited for this excursion! We waited for the rest of the group to show up before we boarded our boat for the excursion. Today we would be sailing around Cabo, and would be taken to Lover's Beach for the day, and from my research I did before the cruise. Lover's beach offered beautiful views of the ships and had CLEAR WATER!! We boarded our boat and began the journey to Los Arcos, and the view throughout the ride were amazing, Cabo is just super beautiful, it was PARADISE! The guy driving the boat was very nice and guided us and told us some fun facts about Cabo, and he spoke great English too! We were able to see a bunch of beautiful and exotic fish from the glass on the boat, super cool to see!

p>
<img src=Here are some of the fish, Didn't come out too well but the boat was very shaky

The waves were pretty rough today here in Cabo, and Lover's beach was closed, but luckily Pelican's beach was open so we would be taken there. We toured around the arches and were show where all the celebrities have homes here in Cabo, they are located at the very top of a hill! After our little tour around the arches, we were taken to Pelican's beach. There was no proper place to dock so the boat had to get as close to the shore and we had to jump off into the water to get to the beach, which I read online about so I knew what to expect! I was a bit nervous but there were people there to help you out so you wouldn't fall, I was worried about Grandma, but she was able to safely make it off, I had forgotten to tell her that we had to jump off the boat, OOPS LOL!

p>
This beach was absolutely beautiful and I took soooo many great pictures here, there was even a beautiful view of both the Ruby and the Miracle while they were both anchored here in Cabo. Pelican

I loved this itinerary, it was amazing and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. We were originally going to do this trip on the Miracle, but got an outstanding deal on Princess and we had an amazing time on Princess and I would definitely sail Princess in a split second, wonderful cruise line I loved it very much and enjoyed every minute aboard the Ruby. The crew is wonderful and very hard working, the ship is beautiful, elegant, and well designed, and the food Is DELICIOUS!! I have yet to try out carnival in the future. You are going to love Princess!! If you have any questions please feel free to ask! :) thank you for reading my review, more is still to come!

Looking forward to the rest of your great review!

My advice, if you do try Carnival in the future, is to avoid the Inspiration/Imagination twins currently sailing out of Long Beach. They are older, garishly decorated (IMO) and will be a big letdown after sailing on the Ruby. I would try for one of their newer ships.

It'll be up soon! :)

I have heard the WORST reviews on those two small ships sailing from Long Beach, and will probably never sail aboard those two ships. Me and Grandma are currently looking into an Eastern Caribbean cruise aboard the Carnival Glory for next March! None of the Princess ships from San Pedro were doing Mexican riviera for when I am off on spring break! Ruby will be doing a 10 day cruise and Crown a California coastal. We like going places where there are beautiful beaches and where it's warm, so It looks like we will be heading to the Caribbean! I feel guilty not sailing Princess but their Florida ships will be doing Western Caribbean when we can sail and my grandma really wants to visit Puerto Rico so carnival glory is offering the perfect itinerary for us! Plus it'll be my graduation gift/trip/spring break, LOL I'm super excited!!

Sounds like a plan! Most people seem to prefer the eastern Caribbean over the western, however I enjoyed both. Just be sure Grandma is prepared for more of a party crowd this cruise as it is over spring break :).

They should have been gone long ago. :(

Actually, we have sailed on Princess on the Grand. In fact, we have sailed on all of the mainstream lines and have found pros and cons for each. And there were some things we liked about the Paradise (Fantasy class) more than the Miracle, when it was sailing out of Long Beach. They were fun for a short cruise. So I recommend being open to trying other lines.

I will be taking my 13 year old nephew with me on an Alaskan cruise on the Ruby. I was looking for information about the ship and found your amazing review. I like that it is full of details and pictures.

I'm sorry you didn't try the teen lounge Remix. My nephew is curious about it. I guess he'll just have to try it and see if he likes it!

Ruby leaves 7/12 from Seattle. Since we have to fly there to get the ship, we decided to spend 2 days touring Seattle. I'm looking forward to reading some more about your cruise and things to do on the Ruby.

I have been on 1 ocean cruise before and this will be the first cruise for my nephew. He is so excited you would think I'm taking him to the moon! I'm excited, too. I'm trying to decide if I like big ocean cruise ships or smaller river boat cruises better. I've done one ocean cruise and one river boat. They have a lot of similarities but also some differences. Then in July I'll do my second ocean cruise on the Ruby to Alaska and in December I'll do my 2nd river boat cruise. But, you know, I may like both - I just like to travel.

Alex, thanks for your review - the details about the ship are very helpful. I'm going to make sure we study the deck plans before we go. Any helpful hints or ideas are appreciated, Fran, Dallas Texas
