Still no express luggage program???

Is it true that NCL does not offer an express luggage program??

I know they used to have the BAGS program and it's been discontinued - has it been replaced with any other option??

Yep, it's discontinued, no replacement, and I really miss it!

Why miss it? Just got off the Getaway. Could not have been easier. bags exactly where said they would be, plenty of porters to help with bags, plenty of taxis and, if you have the app and feel comfortable, uber drivers, all available to help you with your bags.

I believe the old BAGS program the OP is asking about is a program NCL had at some ports with some airlines where they would check your luggage all the way through onto your flight. Haven't seen it around for years. There was a charge for it.

We didn't miss it because the program never allowed for Canadian carriers.

I miss it because the bags went from outside our cabin door to our final airport. That meant that from the ship we went directly to the airport security lines, no checking in with skycap or at the checkin counter. That was one of the best features imo.

We tried the luggage program on Royal Caribbean and didn't really enjoy it. The only benefit was that we didn't have to stand in the customs line. But, we got pulled aside on the ship without being told why, escorted to the customs booth and had to open our bags to be searched because we chose that express luggage program. In the end, I don't think it saved any time.

Also, the airline mishandled our bags and we didn't get them until the day after we got home. :eek:

So based on that experience I probably wouldn't try an NCL program.

We loved it, especially when having a late afternoon flight. We could send off our luggage, and tour or do what we wanted and never worry about our luggage until we got home.

personally i wouldn`t trust them to get my cases to me and on the correct flight . give me easy walk off . at least i know where my luggage is then .

I would love if NCL did this. I like to do early walk off, but hate schlepping my luggage while doing so (as a single mom, the only one dealing with luggage is me - no extra hands to help). I would gladly pay for this service since it would make life much easier for me if I only had to worry about carry-on bags.

I used it twice on previous cruises, no problems! I loved it, they delivered luggage tags and boarding pass to the room!

We used a luggage program on Crystal.UPS picked up our bags and they were in our cabin when we got there.
