We are flying in to FLL the day before our cruise, and staying at the Riverside.

We are looking for suggestions of things to do, places to see , restaurants to try.....we only have the one day. Thanks! (We are both in our early '50's)

Fort Lauderdale is best seen from the water. The water taxi (http://www.watertaxi.com) is probably Fort Lauderdale's most recommended excursion (and rightfully so) and a stop is right by the Riverside. If you don't want to take the water taxi, the Carrie B tour boat (http://www.carriebcruises.com) docks just a couple of blocks away.

For activities on land check out http://www.lasolasboulevard.com in addition to http://www.sunny.org. If you decide to go to the beach you can hop on the sun trolley (http://www.suntrolley.com) for $1/ride or $3/day a pass.

If the weather is really nice, you are in the best neighborhood for taking a stroll on Las Olas Blvd or on the riverbank. If it's the first Sunday of the month, walk over to the Jazz Brunch on the river before heading to the ship.
