Florence Tuscan Wineries

We are staying in Florence after our cruise for a couple days, and we will have a rental car. Could someone recommend some wineries to visit in the area? There are so many, it is a little overwhelming when I try to do research!

Or maybe a DIY wine tour link or suggestion?

drive the Chianti Road just south of Florence, and there are many great stops you can make!

make sure to stop at cheese/meat markets in the small towns like Greve or Ponzano.

If you want to partake, you might consider an organized tour or hiring a car and driver for a wine tour. Drunk driving is a very serious offense in Italy and if you are caught you can be tossed out of the country and not allowed to return. The acceptable blood alcohol level is very low (see below).

Thank you for the link to that guide, I appreciate it. It has a lot of other great useful information too (we don't drive drunk here, and certainly wouldn't drive drunk in Italy). We just wanted to stop at a couple great wineries on our drive up to Florence.
