Ketchikan - can't do cruise to Misty Fjords

not enough time, per vendor recommended here (the customer service was gold, though!), nor are we interested in doing the float plane/cruise combo, for too many reasons to mention.

Love nature, don't mind some hiking, don't like tourist traps, what other recommendations (with suppliers) would you folks have, preferably under $150/each? We're going to be there mid June.
