Hotel Recommendation in Galveston

Sailing on the Breeze, looking for full service hotel near the pier.

Holiday Inn on Seawall! Has a shuttle.

The San Luis Resort. Has shuttle and fantastic food!

Harbor House. You can walk a few blocks to the ship.

Don't want to walk dragging luggage.

Tremont House is full service near pier!

Many of these hotels listed like San Luis ( which is a really nice hotel) require a 2 night stay and is over 300 a night, same goes for Hilton

Harbor House is closest hotel to pier. Do believe the Galvez/Tremont shuttle picks passengers up at the Harbor House and shuttles to the pier. But, all these hotels usually require a 2 night minimum.

Have not stayed here but Moody Gardens only seems to require 1 night stay, might book that for next cruise, hotels.com had it for 229 and I think it has shuttle

My fav. During high season the nicer hotels are requiring two night min on weekends & upping the rates on weekends. But after Labor Day that should stop except for maybe holidays.

I drive everyone in my party next door to the cruise terminal & drop them off with all the luggage, return to HH parking lot, park & walk back to the terminal. Easy. Fast. No traffic. No waiting.

This is especially convenient during foggy season when the ships might be delayed coming &/or going. This way you can wait at the hotel & are there to see when the ship actually arrives & be the first to arrive ahead of the mob that has been unable to park (lots still full from previous week's passengers still on ship waiting in harbor for fog to lift). Can you tell I have been in this situation a few times?

Harbor House is nice but it doesn't have a restaurant or room service. The Tremont and Gálvez are in a class by themselves. Then comes the San Luis and all the rest.
