dougburns Posted November 18, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2016 According to Daniel Ilias, HD here on the Wind, the Cloud will be re-configured for only 200 pax and the staterooms will be larger than the current Veranda suites.

A little more space, especially in the closet and bedroom would be nice.

According to the Silverseas website if you look at the two Clouds side by side - and on suite sizes the rooms don't get any larger. A Vista now is 240 sq ft and after exactly the same 240, same for veranda 295 before and after the refit. There are less Vistas on deck 4 after the refit probably to allow for more expedition staff cabins. Where the rooms get bigger is there are now 3 Medallions at 437 sq ft ( these were the old Silvers) and 6 new Silvers a 541 sq ft on deck 7 after the refit. The photo images with new slimline furniture MAKE THE ROOMS APPEAR LARGER !! The 200 passengers only applies to the polar regions, with 260 listed for elsewhere. So when cruising other than polar regions the passenger numbers only drop by 36 from what is current now. Crew numbers drop from now 222 to 208. All these figures are straight off the Silverseas website. :) Edited November 19, 2016 by rojaan19

But, glad to know it still will be a unique luxury expedition experience. Give my best to Dr. Ron.
