TroubleT Posted May 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2016 We'll be on Constellation/Celebrity in November. The cruise starts in Istanbul (and we already know the drill - visa is required and we know how to get it). We'll have stops in Jordan and Oman. Do we need to get individual visas or the cruise ship will take care of it and provide a blanket visa for all passengers? The cruise ends in UAE. We are planning on staying a couple of extra days in Abu Dhabi and then go to Dubai for 3 days. Do we need visa for UAE and how can we get it? Is it possible to get it online? Thanks! notjaded Posted May 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 28, 2016 On our recent cruise with Seabourn, they obtained our Omani and Jordanian visas. You really should have a talk with a knowledgeable representative of your cruise line regarding the UAE situation. I know it is visa-on-arrival for airport arrivals.... Rare PaulMCO Posted May 29, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2016 US Citizens get a visa on arrival in UAE and group transit visas in Jordan and Oman. Link below is a little old 2014 but if you check the CIBIT site who Celebrity recommends for visas -- it is unchanged for UAE, Jordan and Oman. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/en_US/pdf/Passport_and_Visa_Requirements.pdf

The OP would be wise to double check with the cruise line. For example, Qatar offers VOA, but only at airports and not always at the cruise terminal (depends on several factors). On our recent Regent cruise we had to obtain Turkish visas in advance but obtained Omani and Jordanian visas through the ship.
take us away Posted June 1, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Just back from these countries in April and no visas were required before the cruise. Any needed were obtained on board - it was Holland America. The UAE visa is good for 30 days so you should be fine with the extra days. Glad you understand about the Turkish visa requirement as many overlook this. Always check with the cruise line and embassies before you leave - as the rules frequently change. Duh -- I posted the Celebrity requirements link and the OP is not going to Qatar.
