  1. Hi Linda, Congrats on "finally" getting a refund! I would suggest having them present you or TA with their accounting to prove that they really overpaid you. Otherwise, their accounting error may be in trying to re-charge you. Re your 7/21 cruise: Hope it happens for you, but most importantly, hope it happens safely. For me, I cannot imagine a scenario in which I would feel comfort cruising until vaccinations are omnipresent and effective, therapeutics reach a high level of viral suppression, and I know that if I were to be infected mid-cruise, that I would be able to discharged to major hospital for treatment. That being said, Alaska is the location for any probable return to cruising for me, unless I did a cruise around the Hawaiian Islands. Be safe!
  2. FYI, Crystal has a brand-new 200 passenger expedition ship that will be used for Antarctica in the 2021 season. There will be helicopters and submarines. It will approach from either Christchurch or Hobart, and visit the Ross side of Antarctica. This would mean much less time on an airplane for us, so this option is under consideration.
  3. Appears that Seabourn has made good on our refund request, both those subjected to CC dispute and those not (FCDs): 09/27/19 Deposit on Cruise $9,640.00 02/24/20 Deposit on Cruise $3,000.00 02/24/20 Deposit on Cruise $3,000.00 03/20/20 Email to TA requesting cancellation 03/21/20 TA said cx today 03/26/20 TA said refunds take 60 days from cx date 04/04/20 email to Seabourn inquiring 04/06/20 Seabourn said 60 day processing time. 05/19/20 Filed Dispute with Chase for 9/27 and 2/24 deposits 05/20/20 Email to Seabourn requesting refund of FCDs $2,000.00 05/26/20 Chase Dispute Agent manually reprocessed $9640 charge dispute 06/13/20 Credit Cards credited for cruise deposits and FCD charges, with 5/59 processing date
  4. Such data is hard to come by. For example, after initiating my credit card dispute, the dispute amount was subtracted from my outstanding balance. That will remain until Seabourn either contests or relents. I won't really know the final outcome of that process for some time, and it will come in the form of a letter from my card company. So, is my refund due to the dispute (what is the date of that?) or from Seabourn (date as well). To really hash this out would take more cells on your spreadsheet, which I am not necessarily suggesting. The refund of your airline and FCDs is great, and may be a testimonial to your social media (Cruise Critic) presence. Well done and well deserved.
  5. We had a wonderful stay at the Danieli. See Venice before the rising sea level makes that impossible.
  6. Rome: Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria. On one of the hills just outside the center city, a quick taxi ride to anything. La Pergola is a 3-star Michelin. If you go and can afford it, stay in the area of the hotel with the private lounge. Amsterdam: Really a long time since I was there, but we enjoyed the Hilton, adjacent to a park. It has a nice top floor lounge. Can't say how it is now.
  7. Wonderful aspirational letter you wrote on SB's behalf. You are quite right about timely and accurate communication with customers. That is what allowed me to stay in business for nearly 40 years. What happened with SB and you before you wrote your letter?
  8. Not Paulchili, but I am familiar with Seabourn FCC. When they expire after four years, one gets a full refund. That is, if Seabourn is not bankrupt.
  9. Linda, United has waived mileage ticket change fees, at least through December. FYI, I've sent you a couple of emails that were bounced back as undeliverable.
  10. Post of the Day! On another matter, based upon some of the recent posts, last night I sent an email to Seabourn, requesting a status update. I just received from them a detailed listing of my deposit charges (along with amounts per cc) and a personalized response saying that I should receive my refund in 10-14 days. Not sure that this level of detail is because I submitted a CC dispute, but it was nice to see that someone actually looked into my account. 🙂
  11. Thanks for sharing that good news!!
  12. Sorry to confuse you. I'm afraid that has happened on multiple occasions.
  13. Did your friend’s refund come from Seabourn. A credit card dispute, or TA?
  14. It would have been much more fun to have met you on this cruise, rather than on this thread.
  15. Can you provide some information that might help the rest of us: Did you get the refund directly from Seabourn or from your credit card? What is your status level with SB? Do you have any theory to explain why you got your refund so quickly? Thanks!
  16. Which is exactly why a credit card chargeback is the best course of action.
  17. There are 52 data points (cruise bookings) listed on the chart. For the first 26 of them by date, 11 have been refunded (42%), for the next 26, two have been refunded (8%). I'll leave it at that and you can draw your own conclusions. Edit: Note that I manually reanalyzed the data with the most recent chart posted by OP. There may be an error or two, but the substance of the results are the same.
  18. Good idea. Never thought I could just copy/paste! So, here is the chart, sorted by cruise date. Looks like that is a primary factor for refunds: Cruise Fare Cruise Date Refund Request Date Refund Received Date Days since Request Request to Refund Flaminjune 3/14/2020 2/24/2020 5/13/2020 91 79 Sueweldon 3/14/2020 3/15/2020 5/23/2020 71 69 jkwestlake 3/21/2020 3/27/2020 59 Rambo Trout 3/22/2020 2/27/2020 5/12/2020 88 75 cruzluvers 3/22/2020 3/9/2020 77 Sunburned Tongue 3/22/2020 3/9/2020 77 Zimflyer 3/22/2020 3/17/2020 5/10/2020 69 54 TV24 3/28/2020 3/15/2020 71 Twinkles 3/28/2020 3/15/2020 5/18/2020 71 64 Mauzac 4/5/2020 3/14/2020 72 Scottie920 4/5/2020 3/16/2020 70 Teamflames 4/15/2020 3/10/2020 5/25/2020 76 76 SF Voyage 4/17/2020 3/9/2020 5/24/2020 77 76 Sunburned Tongue 4/17/2020 3/9/2020 5/23/2020 77 75 Mauzac 4/20/2020 3/30/2020 56 Marazul 4/22/2020 4/2/2020 53 astride 4/29/2020 3/30/2020 56 swaxxy 4/29/2020 3/30/2020 56 DC Traveler 5/2/2020 4/13/2020 42 Bobal 5/6/2020 3/11/2020 5/24/2020 75 74 mhf 5/6/2020 3/26/2020 5/21/2020 60 56 Mark56 5/9/2020 3/16/2020 70 Astride 5/16/2020 4/15/2020 40 Zelker 5/23/2020 4/15/2020 40 DFW 5/23/2020 4/16/2020 39 jph814 5/23/2020 4/17/2020 38 DuffyMcDuffy 5/31/2020 4/14/2020 41 ON Cruiser 5/31/2020 4/14/2020 41 Flyfishingwidow 6/3/2020 4/15/2020 40 Wyattsaubt 6/6/2020 4/15/2020 40 MTN1 6/23/2020 4/13/2020 42 JRS51 6/27/2020 3/25/2020 61 crudoll 6/27/2020 4/15/2020 40 Wire 6/27/2020 4/16/2020 39 Jodiandfrank 7/18/2020 3/16/2020 70 Westport 7/18/2020 4/3/2020 52 Foyt 7/25/2020 3/23/2020 63 Whystayhome 7/31/2020 5/6/2020 19 labate 8/14/2020 5/7/2020 18 Clou 9/16/2020 3/27/2020 59 TV24 10/3/2020 5/7/2020 18 Whystayhome 10/24/2020 5/6/2020 19 Not Jaded 12/20/2020 3/20/2020 66 Wire 12/20/2020 3/22/2020 64 Clou 12/22/2020 4/13/2020 42 74 56 Clou 12/22/2020 4/13/2020 42
  19. Thanks for that! How about posting both, including those who have failed to get refunds in the data set?
  20. Can you sort your spreadsheet by refund request date and show the results? Also, sort by cruise date and show those results? Thank you. Meanwhile, my credit card dispute has at least temporarily returned my money to my account.
  21. Looking at the spreadsheet, it appears that those with earlier cruises are being refunded before those with later dates. This conforms to what Seabourn has said to me.
  22. Did AMEX issue a preliminary refund pending Seabourn's response to the dispute, or is your money fully and forever refunded by AMEX
  23. FIled a claim yesterday with JP Morgan, my 60th day. We shall see...
  24. So, yesterday marked the 60-day benchmark, so I called JP Morgan and initiated chargeback proceedings. We will see how this journey ends...
