Running out of money, what to do in San Juan

Our cruise visits 4 ports and as I schedule our excursions, the budget is getting low. What are some nice things to do in San Juan for not a lot of money.

When will you be there?

You can easily do the forts on your own, very walkable or there is a tram around town.

You can do Bacardi Rum factory on your own.

Visit the forts and wander Old Town.

I agree. You don't even need to do a tour in San Juan.

No tour is needed. Go see both forts. Buy a "combination" ticket for both sites. Old Town is fairly small and walkable. Warning from the in-town port both forts are uphill. Take your time and hydrate and you'll be fine.

Don Q in Old San Juan closed months ago. As has the Rums of Puerto Rico tasting bar inside the Puerto Rico Tourism Info Center.

We know and are so disappointed. We went to the original Don Q in '79 on our honeymoon...up the hill with a great quaint wooden bar. We have visited every time we have been in OSJ. Never loved the new Don Q, but enjoyed the drinks and stopping there. On our last cruise.....no Don Q anymore.
