KentuckyFarmGirl Posted May 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2017 So yesterday I received an email from Royal Caribbean stating our February 11,2018, cruise aboard the Allure of the Seas have been "chartered" and therefore my trip will have to be "reaccommodated". We have been offered Jan 28 or Feb 4 on Allure which are Bahamas, St Thomas, and St Martin (which we did this past January), OR Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Cancun. Or, we can sail Oasis of the Seas Feb 4 or Feb 11 (our original dates) which will go either to the western Caribbean as well, OR St Martin, Puerto Rico, and Labadee. We're leaning toward sailing Oasis on the 11th (our original date) to Puerto Rico, St Martin, and Labadee as neither of us have done Labadee, and my husband hasn't done Puerto Rico. So, what do you all think? Which would you do if you had to change? Is Oasis any different than Allure. We sailed Allure earlier this year and loved it. kknorr0320 Posted May 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 13, 2017 I'd go with the itinerary that has new stops. The ships are probably similar enough that unless you absolutely must see one show over another I don't think with ship you pick will matter. lbjen Posted May 13, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 13, 2017 I think it might be Cozumel rather than Cancun.

Ourusualbeach Posted May 13, 2017 #5 Share Posted May 13, 2017 Don't forget that Oasis is out of Port Canaveral and Allure is out of Ft. Lauderdale. Flights are easier out of Ft. Lauderdale.
Steelers2 Posted May 13, 2017 #6 Share Posted May 13, 2017 I would do the new ports if it was me i lived the Allure also we sailed on it a few years ago Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Rare Smitty815 Posted May 13, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 13, 2017 I would definitely do the St Martin, Puerto Rico, and Labadee on the Oasis. I have done both the Oasis and Allure. I can assure you that the ships are pretty well identical, so if you loved the Allure, you will also love the Oasis. The perk, however, is that your shows will be different this time around. You'll have a new High Dive Show, New Skate Show, New Musical (although I'm not a fan of Cats), etc. That alone would make me choose doing a different ship. As for the ports, it would be nicer to do a couple that you haven't done, so that's another plus with choosing St Martin, Puerto Rico, and Labadee. Ocean Boy Posted May 28, 2017 #9 Share Posted May 28, 2017 I'm booked the week before the charter. I wonder who chartered the ship? I prefer the eastern to the western Caribbean. But if you have not done the western it is worth doing at least once. I also feel the same way about Labadee. I much prefer a regular port to a private stop but it is worth going at least once to experience the place. Smitty makes good points that you will get new shows by sailing Oasis. However, CATS is somewhat lacking at best and I don't like sailing out of Port Canaveral.
