Barbados

We are on the Caribbean trip this Nov/Dec, but have never been to Barbados before.

When the QV docks here, we have friends who are on a Viking ship in port that same day. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good restaurant or cocktail bar near the cruise terminal, so that we might meet up for an hour or 2. I have had a look on the web already, but it is always nice to know of an an establishment that is worth going to, when you do not have much time on the day to look around.

We always enjoy going to a nearby resort. It's a pretty place to stroll around and enjoy a cocktail. The Sandy Lane is about 15 minutes by cab.

There are several others nearby too.

There's a bar at the port, nothing fancy. There's a bus terminal so you could agree to meet by the sign for no 1 and take a cab into town, there's the boat yard beach or a row of bars Oceanside.

Having been to Barbados on QM2 I have to say there is nothing or very little at the port; you'd have to travel into Bridgetown or to a resort/beach for something a little better with a view. Just my H.O. and those who know the island well may have better insights/experience.

There are a few good restaurants at St. Lawrence's Gap
