Rare mitsugirly Posted March 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2015 That was awesome and I had no idea there was this kind of snorkeling there at Junkanoo. How far out did you go? I have to ask about the one fish that looked like it had wings... is this the same type of fish do you know? I also like the way you put the camera down and got the fish swimming around it and the anemones flowing back and forth. Pretty cool. Did you have a gopro? Is it on a stand or stick or something to keep it from getting lost or did it just stay put?

Bay St. (Exact location of most of this video= 25.079293, -77.350756) Different type of fish, but im not sure of the type you posted. I used my gopro for the still videos, the sand is sturdy enough to just shove the gopro housing into.
CruiseNYR Posted March 17, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted March 17, 2015 That was so fun! Thanks for sharing it with us. What kindof feedback can you give us on Junkanoo? If you want to go for snorkeling, its a hit or miss. I've been to junkanoo beach 6 times and only this 1 time the water was so clear. Usually visibility is only a couple of feet. I think HomeSkillet's fish is a flying gurnard and your fish might be a lizard fish. flying gurnard: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_gurnard lizard fish: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_lizardfish The lizard fish I've seen like to sit on the bottom like that.
