If someone is a no show on a cruise? What money if any is returned?

What's the benefit of this vs cancelling?

I had a triple booked once and ended up with 2 cancellations. They refunded my third fare. Offered to do a name change for fare number 2, but I couldn't get someone to go on such short notice.

DD just got a promotion, so now she's not sure if her & DGS will be able to go. They are booked in an interior with 2 of my other DSs... So, I'm not sure if she can't go if it would be better to call & cancel or just let them be no shows if it ends up to where they can't make it....

I would never cancel until the last second and then just not show up, you never know what could happen. If something would happen that would make a change to the itinerary they could cancel with no penalty.

I was thinking I had read on here before that it was better to be a no show, but couldn't really remember.

Hoping they get to go as planned though!
