Private Car Hire for LHR Transportation

Any suggestions for private car hire to transport the wife and I from LHR to the County Hall area and then back to LHR?

I've googled some names but just looking for first hand suggestions.

Private Hire companies are highly variable and an excellent service today from one driver for me, may be a terrible one with a different driver for you tomorrow.

To be honest, you really have to trust your instinct and the way they handle your booking. Do not pay in advance - get enough cash from an ATM at the airport to pay the driver (For a standard car for two people and luggage, expect to pay around £40 plus a £5 tip)

We've used Simply Airports several times, and we've always been very happy with the vehicles, the drivers, and the service. Last August our flight into LHR was so late that the airline needed permission to arrive past the normal airport hours. We were so afraid that our driver would have given up, but he was there at 1 a.m. with a friendly greeting.

We used Blackberry Cars in September and were extremely pleased with them. It was a Sunday 0600 pick up, we got a message when the car was 10 minutes from our hotel, he was about 10 mins early and the flat rate was 40 GBP for an estate car from County Hall-Waterloo to LHR.

We used Express Airport Transport on a recommendation from an acquaintance who had lived in London. It was 63 GBP from Heathrow to the County Hall Marriott for 5 people.
