Bigtex1622 Posted January 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2015 One of the upgrades listed for Vision is an Ipad in the staterooms. What are they used for?? Are they tied up, or can you use them while on the ship? .
Topo Gigio Posted January 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) One of the upgrades listed for Vision is an Ipad in the staterooms. What are they used for?? Are they tied up, or can you use them while on the ship? . Went twice on the Vision (Sept & Oct) and didn't see any Ipad. Bobal Posted January 26, 2015 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) This was a big thing a few years ago when revitalisations started and we had one on Legend of the Seas just after revitalisation in May 2013. The ipad was only available in JS and above. It could be used much in the same way as interactive TVs - i.e. to look at menus, onboard account, use for Wifi etc. It had some books downloaded (not many - and all classics which you can get free on Kindle), and some games. It could be taken around the ship if you wanted. I haven't heard anything about ipads in a long time and wonder if they just gave up on them. Perhaps someone who has sailed recently on Vision class can advise. Edited January 26, 2015 by Bobal
MADflyer Posted January 26, 2015 #6 Share Posted January 26, 2015 RCI did make a statement in IT press a couple of years ago that they had given up on 'hardware' ship enhancements and would focus on 'software' This was never in the form of an official press release, but only through and interview with a magazine. I was on Vision several times after the Cadiz revitalization and no IPADs were available. While they did re-do all the suites on deck 8, we have had OS, GS and JS on various sailings and there were no IT related enhancements.
