Stephanieelmer Posted March 13, 2015 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2015 We are a party of 3 staying in NO for 2 night before cruising on Carnival Elation. None of us have travelled to NO before and wanting to soak up as much of the city as possible in a short timeframe & on a budget. Does anyone have recommendations for a great cost-effective b&b in or near the French Quarter? Looking to spend under $150/night. TIA
nolatravelgirl Posted March 17, 2015 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2015 Almost all B&B hotels only sleep two unless you get some sort of a suite that includes a sitting area where one person would then sleep on a pull out couch. Once you get into that range you are out of $150 range. Also note that a lot of the hotels that are closer to the FQ are old historic hotels and will many times only have one queen bed in the lowest category rooms. You would be better served looking at some of the hotels in the Warehouse District (not that far of a walk) that would have more modern hotel rooms that have two double/queen beds in the room. mamajules Posted March 25, 2015 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2015 There are four of us in New Orleans for 2 nights prior to our Dream cruise in October. We booked the Hotel Villa Convento in the French Quarter. We booked a room with 1 queen bed and 1 double bed, and are paying $145 a night. It is on Ursulines Avenue just up from the convent and near the French Market. It is definitely an older family run hotel (nothing big or fancy, and not a B&B, no breakfast included), but love the atmosphere and location. Trip Advisor had a lot of positive reviews.
