Hello we are going on the Valor in May with the premier cruise offer we have a few questions if you don't mind and if you can help:

1- Who is the casino manager on the Valor

2- Some people told us we would get our drinks on us card in our room, others in the welcome cocktail then some say in the casino, does anybody exactly know where?

3- Is it possible to get a free cruise offer while on this cruise? Just curious we never got one of these.

4- I worried since the ship has not been in dry dock/renovated since 2011 it be in bad shape any recent people that cruised on her can comment on her appearance and how is the bedding?

5- Has anybody found the rooms in the Valor to be warm, we love it cold we from Florida lol.

I just got off the Valor yesterday.

1. I believe the casino manager is Alexandra, but I am not 100% sure. I did not interact with the pit managers or casino manager except to say thank you when they comped my drinks the second evening and issued me a Drinks On Us card the third evening.

2. The Drinks On Us card is issued at the casino. Many people were receiving them the first evening. The casino manager or designee will explain the card and then punch a hole in your Sail & Sign card and connect the two.

3. Yes, it is possible. People that I played with regularly throughout the cruise stated they received the free cruise offer in their stateroom on the final evening. These players did play a lot though. I played 3-4 hours a night (which is a lot considering there was only one sea day and the casino did not open until 5:30 p.m. the other days) and they were always in the casino when I was, and even when I was not.

4. The ship is in excellent condition. Just because it has not been drydocked does not mean maintenance/upkeep has not been maintained.

5. For me, it was hit or miss. I found my stateroom to be warm during the day, and cool at night. I had an aft-wrap stateroom so during the day the sun would be directly on my deck/room. We tried to keep the curtains closed during the day when not in the room to keep the room temperature down, but our stateroom stewards kept opening them back up when doing the morning cleaning. Overall, I found the ship to be warm. I would walk from the casino back to my stateroom and I would be sweating. The casino will always be warm, especially at the table games, due to the low ceiling and bright lighting. Even the dealers and pit managers were complaining on how warm it was.

Thanks for answering my questions I am not happy to hear this ship is warm, glad to hear it was cooler at night that is my main worry being warm at night and not being able to sleep. I wonder whether there was a problem on the ship with the heat...if the dealers were complaining it had to be out of the norm because if it were always that way they would either get used to it or not say anything...wonder if they had an ac issue or if it was cool the heat might of been on in the ship maybe??

You pretty much given relief to hear the ship is maintained that is the best news.

Another important thing to me is the food how was the MDR dinner, anything recommendations negative or positive to give us? Did you try the steakhouse and how was the lunch buffet. I have to be both gluten and dairy free hoping they remain to have a meat carving, some veggies and a variety in salad bar like to hear your opinion about this if you don't mind. What was there to eat besides pizza past 10:30 pm excluding room service anything else salad maybe anything besides pizza?

We will both have the drinks on us program but will buy the Drink package because those drinks they give you are only good in the casino. My other half spends hours in the casino mainly at night but on cruise days we are there also, we also have 4 1/2 days sea days so I guess I see if he accumulates a free cruise maybe?

So, would you go back on this ship?

I do not like to be warm at night either. At home, we sleep with the ceiling fan on at night even during the winter, and I had no issues with being warm at night. I truly believe the stateroom being warmer during the day had to do with our room/balcony being on the aft, uncovered, directly in the sun.

I also truly believe the casino is warmer in the table games area due to the lighting, not any heating or cooling issues. I was fine when playing slot machines. You will notice what I mean about the lighting at certain table games when you get on the ship.

We only went to the MDR the second evening (we did the steakhouse the first evening) and did not return. The food was average, but we found the service to be really slow. We did the steakhouse twice (first evening and second formal evening) and Lido deck dining options the other evenings. We have no regrets about not going back to the MDR.

There were were many dining options for lunch. There were multiple salad bars, the buffet had several options, and there was a carving station during both the lunch and dinner buffets. There is also Rosie's (Fish & Chips), Burrito Bar, Mongolian Wok, and the Deli. For after 10:30 p.m., dining options were a smaller late night buffet and the deli was open until 11:00 p.m., in addition to Pizza Pirate.

Yes, I would go on the ship again, but I cruise more for the itinerary, not the ship. I would do the Liberty out of San Juan before I would do the Valor out of Port Canaveral.

I'll be on the Valor for the 7th time in March. On the last night of my last cruise in December I received a letter with a free inside cabin offer.

The steakhouse is very good, there are enough options at the buffet to satisfy most people, the décor is IMO garish, and the ship rides the waves nicely.

Thank you for that info, where was that small late night buffet located? We were going to go on the Liberty out of San Juan, but we decided to take a land vacation in Aruba in July instead....our Valor cruise is in May to southern caribbean 8 nights. Originally we were booked on my favorite ship the Oasis of the Seas Royal Caribbean but decided to cancel that and go on the Valor since we won't need airfare (we live in northern florida and do fly to south florida lol) and the night before hotel stay, port canaveral is only a two hour drive....my daughter and her boyfriend are going on the Valor with us, choosing the Valor saves them money also and they now have a balcony cabin and an extra night on the ship so it all made sense. We save money going on the Valor and at the same time have our Aruba land trip which is way way expensive, goes to show me that cruises are very economical...the hotel alone in Aruba for 7 nights costs $3200.00 for a Marriott!

I think I be happy....I know I won't regret changing from Oasis of the Seas to the Valor...Carnival may have some negatives but I never had a bad Carnival cruise....in fact, the casino treats my other half the best out of any other cruise line.

I hope they have a live band playing somewhere at night?

Yes. The Bloodpower Band played every night in the casino. I thought they were awesome and after the first couple of nights I adjusted my schedule to play in the casino when they were playing.
