The Blue Star Line is to Build Titanic 2

Titanic to sail again!!

Professor Clive Palmer, chairman of the Blue Star Line, signed a (MOU) Memorandum of Understanding on the 9th May 2014 to build Titanic II.

She will be an exact replica of the original Titanic, inside and out, but with totally up to date naval architectural safety features.

“Titanic II is scheduled to be launched from its construction base in China in 2018, before her maiden passenger voyage retracing its original journey from Southampton to New York.”

So is this a good idea or simply a crass idea?

The word crass has some prominence in my opinion.

I did look twice to see if you had posted this on 1st April!!

Crass pops to the top.

But no doubt, that ship will sail full.

And with full media attention.

Crass is exactly the right word to use when discussing Clive Palmer.Now an Australian politician with his own political party.

in the past he purchased the Hyatt Coolum resort which had a good reputation.he booted Hyatt from the hotel's management and now it is Australia's Fawlty towers-

I doubt the Titanic2 will sail as far as the original Titanic.

I'll be a defending voice then and say it is a wonderful idea. We would book it without question to experience the sailing of that era. Yes, the loss of it's namesake with so many lives was a tragedy of immense proportions. But so too the loss of a modern aircraft with it's passengers but we do not then refuse to board a plane made in it's mirror image. The opportunity to share the human experience of sailing the Titanic II would in our minds far outweigh the perceived crassness of the financial objectives of the builders.
