htkodiak Posted September 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2016 We are going to be sailing on the Carnival Magic on Oct. and will only have a couple of hours in Cocoa Beach. We want to purchase some wine and soda before the cruise and we will have to purchase it in the AM on Saturday before the cruise. So what I'm asking is is Publix open early on Saturdays and do they sell wine early ? Or are there other options ?thank you for any info.
CruiserBruce Posted September 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted September 24, 2016 (edited) A quick Google search for Publix finds 2 in the area, they open at 7am on Saturday. Don't believe there has ever been an issue selling alcohol on Saturday. Sunday was the problem, and that law has been ended. Capt_BJ Posted September 24, 2016 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2016 won't matter to OP but .... actually the law about sales has not ended Florida leaves this issue up to the local municipalities and the rules can be different depending on the side of the street! There is shopping plaza not far from the port where the rest's on the north side can sell booze at 11 on Sunday, but on the south side of the plaza the rule is noon. Boundary of an "incorporated area" runs thru the middle.... one end is in a city and the other is unincorporated county land .... different rules apply for each. Who just ended their prohibition, Ft Lauderdale or Broward County?
