Anyone recently off Indy? Hair straightners...

Did you take them and were they confiscated?

I saw a thread recently which said they are now on the banned items list, but only (I think) for cruises from UK?!

So, anyone either on or just got off Indy can you let me know if you took straightners with you and if so did you end up in the naughty room?

To my knowledge, hair dryers and hair straighteners are allowed on all ships.

My daughter took them and had absolutely no issue at sailing to and from Southampton. The thread you are thinking of was about 'flat irons' which are totally different in the US. Hair straighteners are no problem at all :)

She will be taking them again on Indy in 95 days time!!

They are TOTALLY ALLOWED. Period.

My wife has brought her hair straightener for all our cruises. and packed it with our luggage and nobody ever said anything

Thank God! I might've had to cancel the whole trip! Well maybe not go that far but it would have taken a huge shine off the holiday feeling like I looked a mess all the time.

Don't worry.....if the cruise line banned them there would be alot less women cruising.

I only returned on Saturday from our cruise on I.O.S . My sister and me both had our straightners with us but also they are selling them in the perfume shop on board.
