Young adults/teenagers???? 12 night British Isles cruise on Silhouette

We are interested in booking the 12 night British isles cruise on the Silhouette but would like to know if there are typically people our age (mid 40's) with older teenagers/young adults that sail this itinerary. Our children are 17 and 19. :confused:

What time of year is it going? Between end may and July there normally is but the number of uk people doing this itinerary compared to a med one drops so although kids are out until early September here the numbers will be lower. Have you joined the roll call?

We were on a British Isles cruise last August and I only remember seeing a handful of children. Perhaps you should check the roll call for the specific date for a better idea. For our cruise last summer you would have been one of the "kids" if you are in your mid forties. ;)

We did a 12 night British Isles cruise last summer with our 17 year old daughter. We were on Princess. There were plenty of kids her age that she met and spent time with in the evenings. It is a very port intensive trip so most days everyone is off the ship touring. It was an amazing trip, she had a great time. I would highly recommend it.

Hi, We'r also curious about 19 year olds since we'll have one on the Eclipse in August. Cruise Critic has an article saying Celebrity has a Gen NXT program for them- has anyone seen signs of it or have comments? Thanks

Those European cruises are very port intensive. The ship ends up being a hotel really. I'm sure there will be enough to entertain them on a big ship like the Eclipse.

We have thought that on previous "port intensive" cruises but they end up bored if they are unable to find something to do and people to socialize with when we feel they should be exhausted from a long day off the ship. As far as Gen NXT programs.....we were on a Celebrity cruise with them last summer and there was very little planned for them if anything at all. They did tell us at the time that they were looking into developing programs for that age group.

The issue you will run into is your 17 year old will not be able to get into some of the evening programs (18 and over) - whereas your 19 year old will at least be able to get into those (and I believe the casino) One of the newer activities is a Silent Disco - but as I said that maybe 18 and over.... I can't speak from personal experience but from reading the boards, I will tell you that they do enforce the age restrictions

We did the British Isles last year on the Silhouette with an eighteen year old. She had no problems connecting with others her age. I have dailies if anyone is interested.
