Uber from IAH Bush Airport to Galveston

I'm flying into Bush Airport in Houston (IAH) in August for a cruise out of Galveston.

I'm flying in one day before the cruise, and staying at a hotel in Galveston.

According to the Uber app, I can get from the airport to Galveston for about $90 to $100, which seems reasonable.

However, I understand Uber cannot pickup people in Galveston.

With that in mind, does anyone know whether Uber drivers are willing to actually drive you there?

I don't know if Uber will even still be in Houston by that time. They just pulled out of Austin because of bureacracy. It's my understanding it may happen in Houston, as well.

Uber is not permitted to operate in Houston or Galveston.

AS long as they refuse to have driver background checks and fingerprints, they are not allowed.

Uber still operates in Houston but is not allowed to work on Galveston Island

But I just did a dummie booking

It will be $76-$413(depending on time of day and car size)

for a one way trip terminal C to pier21 Galveston
