Maine76 Posted September 19, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted September 19, 2017 Yes. But is it reliable? Since inquiring about mail I did some research and it's my understanding is that delivery to the US is spotty at best.

It was there when I was, ''68-'72. Stribling DD-867. I new a couple of guys off of it. They were super glad they transferred.
shua22 Posted September 26, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 26, 2017 I have mailed post cards from Cuba several times... average time until delivered to the US is 3-4 months, no postmarks!

SuzCruise Posted September 27, 2017 #11 Share Posted September 27, 2017 Hannibal, please share your experience from Cuba. Was there a lot of damage, were stores and restaurants open and ready for business, were tour guides ready for business? hannibal54 Posted September 28, 2017 #12 Share Posted September 28, 2017 Hannibal, please share your experience from Cuba. Was there a lot of damage, were stores and restaurants open and ready for business, were tour guides ready for business? Sent from my iPad using Forums We were also there in May, when the ship was pulling into port I could see some damage along the harbor water edge. I was told that the Melecon was closed to the old car drivers. That was about it, it seemed that everything else was open for business. Having been there before we didn't take any tours outside of the car ride.
oneidealvacation Posted October 22, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 22, 2017 It took 43 days for the postcard I mailed to arrive. As far as I know, mail must go through a third country (Mexico, Canada, Bahamas, etc) rather than being sent directly between Cuba and the U.S.

oneidealvacation Posted November 2, 2017 #15 Share Posted November 2, 2017 I got the post card that I sent to myself today, 10-30-2017, 38 days. I love to see someone actually come back and post the follow up they promised! I find so many threads when I'm searching to see if someone has had a particular experience where updates are promised and then months or years go by with nothing ever being posted. So, even though this wasn't my question, thank you!
