disembarking ship before cruise ends.

Just a quick question, are you able to disembark at the port, before cruise ends. e.g. last port is Rome and would like to get off in Cofu, as have been invited to a wedding. Thanks in advance.:confused:

You just need to make arrangements with the cruise line. Friends of ours just did this in Stockholm; there was some sort of form they filled out on the ship prior to disembarking. I believe they made the arrangements prior to the cruise.

Each cruise line has their own procedure, but here is how to start the process. At least a few weeks (or even months) in advance of your cruise you need to notify the cruise line of your request. It is best to do this on writing. You should get some type of response..and if not u need to follow up. We recently did this on a Princess Cruise. We were told to remind Guest Relations once we were on the ship. We did as instructed and had no problems. In fact, the cruise line even took our luggage off the ship and had it waiting in a secure area for when we finally decided to leave the ship.

The ship will have to be sure there are Customs Officials available to clear your luggage but they do this regularly. Be certain to get written (e-mail) permission in advance and bring that print out with you.

Be sure to get the answer in writing and when you board the ship go by the reception desk to go back over this with them.

Yes as stated above us very important to have it in writing

A copy with you on the cruise and see the pursers desk on boarding to re confirm

So many things can go wrong and you need to circumvent as many as possible
