Seating for 2 - Canival

We are cruising on the Carnival Liberty in April 2012 and celebrating our 5 year anniversary. We are doing the late dining, but we would prefer our own private table over sitting with others. Is this possible and should we arrange it before the cruise or once on the ship? Do we contact Carnival directly?

We did that on 1 cruise cause we thought we wanted a private

table. If we had to do it all over again we would NOT. You can

always go to the fancy places to be alone, meeting people was

kinda scary for us, but in the end it turned out to be really fun.

I have found that very close tables for two are more uncomfortable than a large table simply because you are still sitting right next to someone, only now you are "pretending" you are not. There's not really a whole lot of "private" dining for dinner.

You can disagree, and that's fine of course, but you might consider that sitting with others at dinner is not the end of the world. I've been on those "romantic" cruises and having others to talk to after spending the complete rest of the day with a significant other was not a bad thing, especially over the course of a week-long cruise.

You can make see the maitre d when you get on board to request a table for two...or as suggested you can switch to anytime dining and go whenever you want and ask for a table for two. It is true that some tables are very close together but there are also some more private tables which you can also request.
