Uxmal by private driver/tour?

Has anyone hired a private driver or tour guide for the ruins at Uxmal? What was your experience with it and do you have any recommendations?

We did not, but I've seen William Lawson mentioned. Trip advisor seems to have quite a few reviews. If you google it a link will come up, it's apparently censored here.

Going to Uxmal makes for a very long day. You may want to consider taking a ship sponsored excursion.

There more I read, I would prefer to visit it over Chichen Itza. Some of the private excursions are terribly expensive unless in a large group. It is just my wife & I so that is not going to happen.

Any private companies besides Auto Progreso any one would recommend?

We did the Uxmal ruins with AutoProgresso in Jan. and I would highly recommend them. The tour left on time and there were only about 15 people on our bus. Our tour guide shared some history on the bus ride and gave us a good tour of the ruins. Then we had some time to eat or explore on our own before the ride back. We were very impressed with the ruins. It was a beautiful day, and not crowded. We were able to climb the steps to the Governor's Palace. The bus returned us right to the ship. We were very happy with our choice.
