How old is too old?

Just something to be aware of, however, while any age is appropriate for anyone to cruise, there are age limitations on many excursions. It may be a good idea to check first on anything that may be of interest to do by way of an excursion before you book so as not to be surprised or disappointed once on board.

And it typically is an insurance guideline by the excursion provider and not the cruise line setting these policies.

What's a "carer?" Just curious.

Anyone who cares for a person during an illness, or with a handicap. In homes, often called a care assistant, or care worker. I have noticed many carers on cruisers, often a "paid" worker who helps the client at home, but who has been paid for by the client to go on the cruise and give assistance.. :)
