Captain Nights

Yes, there is. There's one "elegant" night, and it should be on your at sea day. We were on a four night Catalina/Ensenada cruise with Carnival last year and it was the last evening. You don't have to be super dressy but you definitely want to play it up, especially if you're planning to sit for a portrait. :-)

For men we saw button downs, dark slacks, and nice jackets, ladies were more lbds than formalwear. Of course there were a few who really did themselves up as well!

I am going on a 4 day Cruise.

Is there a Captain's Night on the Carvinal Inspiration?

How many times do you have to get dress up? one night for Dinner?

The rest of the time you can be casual?

Thanks

There are two elegant nights per seven-night cruise, one on shorter cruises.

For those not wanting to dress up, the Lido restaurants are open nightly and have a casual dress code.

Shorts (including gym and basketball shorts), beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men and caps are the only items of clothing never permitted in the dining room during dinner.

On most 'cruise elegant' nights most people no longer get really dressed up. Some men wear a suit but others wear what they wear every night- Dockers and polo shirt. You will see VERY few tuxes! Ladies the same every night. However my husband always wears a suit and I wear a long more formal dress.
