Rare Saint Greg Posted May 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Royal Caribbean will return to New Orleans, sailing week-long cruises to The Bahamas and Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. The itineraries are set to launch for the 2018 winter cruise season. Royal Caribbean's 2,435-passenger Vision of the Seas cruise ship will relocate Dec. 15, 2018 to the Port of New Orleans, according to a news release. The company announced the move as part of an overview of its 2018-2019 fleet plans. The move marks Royal Caribbean's return to New Orleans after a three-year hiatus. The Miami, Fla.-based company opted to end sailings from the city in June 2014 after a two-year agreement with the Port of New Orleans ended. http://www.nola.com/business/index.ssf/2017/05/royal_caribbean_new_orleans_re.html
Rare dctravel Posted May 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 4, 2017 Any idea which terminal they will use?
tallyho8 Posted May 5, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 5, 2017 They will use the Julia Street terminal along with the Norwegian ship. Carnival Dream and Triumph use the Erato terminal. I enjoyed cruising on the Voyager and the Navigator out of New Orleans but the smaller Serenade was not as enjoyable. I am disappointed that they are putting the Vision here which is even smaller and older than the Serenade. I am presuming that the Vision will only be here for sailings half a year during winter and sail other places in the summer.
