port of Tampa to skyway

I'm on Vision of the seas now and was wondering time wise how long it would take from the time we pull away to the time we pass under the sunsine skyway bridge. I have earlier dinning and know we will be at dinner at that time but want to run up to the top deck and take pictures.

I would just ask any bartender on the outside deck bars.

I am sure they are busy on sailaway day with people waiting to go under the bridge.

Listen for Captain's annoucement , she told us on our sailing when the time will be.

I think it was going to be about 2 hours, but we had an emergency and the ship had to slow down to transfer the guest to CG.

I went on deck 5 to see the bridge about 7:30 /45 ..... but I just missed it.

I just saw the lights behind us.

I think she ( Capt) said there was only 7 ft clearance.

On my one cruise out of Tampa, the captain mentioned it during muster and either it was before first seating, or they delayed it a bit so people could see it.

Just on Brilliance last week and we left Tampa at 4PM and under the bridge at 6:10 pm. It will be dark so picture aren't the best but pretty to see all the lights.

When we were on the Vision on 29th Nov, we went under the bridge at 6.30 pm. The Captain did announce the expected time as we sailed. :)

Been there, done that! It's pretty cool but, not shocking. 🚢

Usually a little before 2 hours after leaving port. Depends on tides and weather conditions, I have been told. It varies with each sailing.

We left a little after 4pm and went under the bridge around 6:20pm
