mistyinca Posted May 8, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2017 How do you value your trip for insurance purposes, when it is a combined trip. Cruise with WDW for a week after. Flights bought with points, WDW tickets do not expire. This one is confusing. Any ideas? Thanks!
klfrodo Posted May 8, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2017 Flights booked with points have a $0 value. These flights are considered non revenue. The only hope you have to recoup these miles if you cancel or otherwise can't make the trip is to hope your airline has a policy that allows you to rebank these miles for a fee. If so, you can insure the cost of rebanking these miles.. Regarding the WDW side trip. Purchase travel insurance outside of the cruise line. Check out www.tripinsurancestore.com Insure the entire trip, not just the cruise. You'll have coverage from the time you step out the front door until you walk back in the front door. bobandsherry Posted May 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 8, 2017 My understanding is same as klfrodo, points have to reimbursement value for travel insurance. Another site to check for travel insurance is insuremytrip.com. Also, check your credit card benefits. Some offer travel insurance at no cost when you charge your entire purchase to the card. This may also offer point protection. Sent from my LG-H830 using Tapatalk
mistyinca Posted May 8, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted May 8, 2017 Thanks. This is for insuremytrip. I just need to know how to value the trip. $0 on airfare and the wdw tix will still be good. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
