Coki & Magic Ice

Hello everyone. We are a group of 6, ages 57-11 traveling on the Breeze. For our stop at St. Thomas we are wanting to visit Coki, 2 are non swimmers s they can do Coral world, two are divers and two want to snorkel. Coki seems like the easiest place for all this to happen and be close to each other.

A couple in our group have also decided they want to visit the Magic Ice Bar. Is there enough time to do this? What is the time frame to get from Magic to Coki? Would it be better to do it through the ship or independently?

We also want to do some shopping and heard this is the place to do it. Are we packing in too much to our day? I dont anticipate spending a full day on the beach, maybe a couple hours at most.

Thanks!

A few things you need to look at:

How long are you in port?

How much time do you think you need at beach / Coral World

Are you docking at Havensight or Crown Bay?

Crown Bay is about 10 minutes north of Havensight. They are about the same distance to shopping and the Ice Bar (that area is between the two ports). Havensight is closer to Coki, but it is still a 20 minute cab ride.

The Ice Bar is what it is. It's kind of cool, but most people only spend about 20 minutes inside. You can search the posts here for other opinions. You do get a shot and a shot glass to keep. If the kids are from the south, it is kind of fun for them to see it. It is also on the same street as most of the shopping.

From the shopping / ice bar area to Coki is about a 30 minute cab ride. The cruise ports are along the route. It is about a 10 minute cab ride from the shopping area back to either port.

If you do an excursion arranged by the cruise line, it may be difficult for you all to decide to split up at some point. The excursions include transportation. If some people are signed up for Coral World and others for Beach that will mean different transportation. The other thing is, the transportation will be at set times, so you may want to ask the cruise line what happens if you want to stay at the beach longer, etc.

The areas you are thinking about all have a lot of cabs, so getting a ride should not be a problem. Cab's let you ride together, even if you all do different activities once you reach an area, and let you come and go when you want. Just keep an eye on time, and don't be late getting back to the ship.

  • 2 weeks later...

We did it. We spent 2-3 hours at Coral World, went to the beach for another hour or 2, went back to Coral World for a quick shower (once your admission is paid, you can come and go at will) and hopped a cab to Magic Ice. We had lunch at a restaurant within walking distance of the ice bar, went to the ice bar and took a cab back to the cruise ship with plenty of time to spare

What did you think of Coral World and Magic Ice? Worth the price of admission for two adults without children?
